Nah it's on the same screen,t he camera just pulls back to faciliatate everyone onscreen. It works particularly well actually. I went into gamestation for a second play of LBP with my girlfriend and the woman promoting it was there, so we had a 3 player bash, if someone gets stuck att he bottom of a section they "die" and the camera hikes back up to the 2 that are still alive and then the one who died will spawn at the next respawn door.

It was so damn fun playing with 2 other people in the environment, manic crazy fun.

Just got the silenced MP5 and the two upgrades for it. Best weapon so far. It's deadly, even on distance. It's expensive though, 20 diamonds.

There's almost no recoil while aiming from the hip, I like that.

Dragunov wins in my book. Accurate without scope, mostly one shot kills, can be used on limbs to injure and draw out enemy medics, enough ammo.

My current combo is Barrett (AS50?), Uzi, and Carl G rocket launcher.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I found a golden AK. It's across the river from the explosives outpost, north-ish of the Rail Xing in the southern map, near the bloody diamond case on the ledge that I still haven't been able to reach. It's sitting behind some wire near some barrels, I think, next to a dead guy. It's pretty cool, but I ended up sticking with my Barrett. I'll drop by later and pick it up so I can stash it in my primary weapons crate.

Also, I've played around with the map editor for a while. My frame rate is total shit, but it's playable. I threw a bunch of huts and hay bales on a dense savannah with some trees, then littered ammo crates and propane tanks and explosive barrels about and set the place ablaze. It was very fun. Then I made a mountain and stuck a paraglider on the tippity top and flew off. That was fun, too.

I <3 this game.

I just noticed something very odd and extremely fucking annoying on my Xbox map editor.

Has anyone else (Xbox and PS3 owners) noticed that the objects counter is a complete lie? If you look, it says something like 40000 and, even though all objects have a far higher value than one, its still a shit ton of objects.

HOWEVER! If you look to the left of that counter, you should see another counter. A counter that tops out at one hundred. Now, this counter seems to be the actual counter you use. I filled up that little peice of shit counter to 100.3 and I am no longer able to put down objects. Meanwhile, my actual objects counter is nowhere near the 40000 mark. Not even half-way there.

I pose this question to you people. What is this bullshit? I read it has something to do with the TYPE of objects in your map. Basically, you can simply use the SAME fucking house over and over again until you reach your 40000 mark. Dont try to use anyting other than that house though! Of course I am being a little dramatic but I was lead to believe that our maps would be able to have the highest level of detail. While my map does contain just that, I am confined to a gas station and a small town. Four houses small. Four houses small with none of the detail of that beautiful fucking gas station of mine.

I understand that multiplayer maps are more about the positioning of everything and basically just the lay of the land but damn. I want to have detail. I want my maps to tell the people a story. I dont just want some empty houses with some explosive barrels laying around. I want people to see the pain and agony this civil war has had. I cant do that without beer cases and bunk-beds!

Started this game with the Irishman, and right off the bat, wow, this game is pretty unrelenting.

My first mission, taking on the Spec Ops and blasting their truck, I got my hands on a sniper rifle and scouted the area, but a lucky shot with a mortar nailed me almost instantly. Yosip (I love him!), turns up and carries me to safety, back up the hillside, where he then have to fight off all the hostiles. I get into position and start picking off a couple when I hear some East European swearing and two gunshots. Yosip had shotgunned two chaps who were only moments away from blowing me in half.

Too much goddamn fun!

Because of all the discussion that could come from this game. We are talking about how we accessorize our guns. Fantastic.

I GOTS ME AN AK, DART RIFLE, AND A SILENCED PISTOL OF SOME SORT! THIS GAME IS BITCHIN!

Good job you were here to bitch and moan instead of coming up with something useful then.

Any 360 owners created any decent maps so far? I've been testing the editor out, would like to see what others have came up with.

I've made a control map, where both sides start on either side of a valley and have to paraglide in.

Sounds awesome. Question for anyone who is more than 50% through the story:

Spoiler! (click to read)
Where the hell is the guy with the mortar in the large water area in the south-east? The guy can see me from miles away, even when guys standing at the end of the road can't. He keeps ruining my plans, damn eagle eyes.

You mean on the barge mission? Or near the brewery/pipeline (Can't remember which place)? I remember the mortar guy during the barge mission was on a rock to the south, but I can't get really specific because I don't really remember. As for the brewery/pipeline place, your guess is as good as mine.

Oh yeah, if you scroll down on this blog post about Far Cry 2 here, you'll see that Clint Hocking, the Creative Director of Far Cry 2, has posted in the comments.

Cling obviously had a lot in mind that he didn't convey into the story telling.

Okay, I've finished the game, and so this is a warning to you guys: Once you go out the east exit of the prison and jump down that rock, there's no going back. This game doesn't end GTA style, it ends S.T.A.L.K.E.R. style, with no freeroam afterwards, so if you wanna get stuff done, you're gonna have to do it before you finish the main storyline.

Also, there was a moment at the end that made me super happy but then super pissed and super sad at the same time moments later:
Spoiler! (click to read)
You go to pick up this diamond briefcase and find your buddy there, in my case Nasreen. She was glad I was there and everything, and then I hear a familiar voice. Singh walks out from behind some wreckage, and before I can squel with joy at how alive and very not missing he is, he tells Nasreen to kill me. Then he starts shooting. The bastard betrayed me! I ended up killing a whole bunch of buddies sitting in that camp waiting for me. Michelle died first and I was sad, and then I had to kill Singh and Nasreen and Marty! Marty who saved my ass so many times! It super sucked. The last guy I killed was Josip. There were a few of them who weren't at the camp. They were the only ones left alive, and they were Hasim, Frank, Andre and that douche asshole Chinaman. I wish I coulda killed the Chinese asswipe instead of Marty. This game ends on a really depressing note.

I think I'm gonna play through again as Frank, and this time I'm gonna find all the diamonds, scout all the outposts, unlock all the safehouses and underground locations, rescue all the buddies, and do all their side missions.

heers for the heads up.

At the moment, I'm putting the final touches to Overflow, my first map, an industrial park which has been flooded. Still has a lot to do, but hey-ho.

Ack, I've got a horrible glitch. After a few minutes of play, the whole screen will get green lines or boxes across it and flip between black screen, greeny boxy liney screen, and normal play (for a second or two), then it'll repeat until it locks up at the black screen. When I restart the computer, the green lines and boxes are all over my computer, the color is more greeny, and the resolution is decreased to 800x600. I tried updating my drivers, and now the game doesn't tell me that my drivers are too old, but the glitch still persists.

It sucks. I can't even get halfway from one diamond to another without it screwing up.

And also, Pentadact and 1Fort have written their last posts about Far Cry 2, so that's all the more to bawww about.

Edit: What the fuck, it just happened out side of Far Cry 2. This super sucks.

I've read Pentadact for a while, I trust his opinion and his last post on FC2 has put it almost definitely at the top of my list of "Things to buy when I get my 360 back". 1Fort's comments about taking several hours to do one mission just to enjoy the environment and make things more cinematic is certainly appealing, I don't think I'd have any problem really taking my time with this game and getting completely immersed, rather than going for an all-achievements speed run first time round.
