I have played C:47 and Ortmeyer was repeating all the time about the "Power of 47 chromosomes"...never said 48 chromosomes or stuff....

True.
He only mentions 48 once. (Line 3)

The return of the prodigal son - now this calls for a celebration! Heeeeere's Daddy! Welcome home!

I gave you the best start in life - perfect genes! You are a perfect diamond, but it would seem that there's still a bit of grinding to do, before you're finished!

You little ingrate! I should have known you would rebel against your old man - not at all like No. 48. Now there's a loyal and trusting clone.
- Loyal, trusting and dead.

Man was made at the end of the week's work, when God was tired. I greatly improved on all of the built-in flaws. I'll prove to the whole world who's right - and decide who will be left! A little play on the words there, my boy - I know you like that sort of thing.
- He thinks he's bigger than god. And look what happened to the last guy who said that.

Son - I hope you know that this will hurt me more than you. The effort to make you! Every little manipulated gene! Oh, you we're so pampered! You are the apotheosis of Man. When I created you, I was standing on the shoulders of midgets. But I ironed out all the wrinkles - and still you turn on me!

I discovered the true power of 47 chromosomes. Do you think that was easy? As always, I was ahead of my time. They shook their bony little heads, looked at me with their beady little eyes and said I was crazy. You, my friend, are the living proof I'm not!
- No, no. I think the bony head, beady eyed guys were right.

I know you want me dead, my boy, and I forgive you! But let me tell you - dying is the last thing I plan to do! You wouldn't believe what my experiments with recombinant DNA have made possible!

It's such a comfort to see you working so perfectly - I knew I was on the right track. I will close this chapter, and turn a fresh page! You have problems with subordination, and we can't have that, can we?

I have the power to create life, to mold, tailor and perfect humans - do you have any idea of the potential - no mushy sentiments, no quirky traits – and no betrayal! - DO YOU HEAR ME?
- He always has to have the last word.

If you only knew what painstaking research went into this project. I had a clear vision of it - but you look into the sun, and all you see is darkness! I had to shed new light, erase all previous scientific knowledge in this field. I was setting new standards - don't you understand?

I was almost worried, but I knew you would not let me down!

That boy was such a disappointment - I am so happy I still have you!

You have proved to be my favorite son - I'm so proud of you!
- That's how you raised me - always follow through what you begin!

I have lost one son - but you can more than replace him, thank God!

Y-you... I... I should ha-have known. I-I-I didn't even recognize m-my own son. Y-you broke my heart, my son. W-what good is a b-bullet proof vest, when death strikes from within?

Your right; but I just wanted to post those subtitles for reference.
Anyhow, "I discovered the true power of 47 chromosomes." sounds like a logical one.

I'm sure Ort Mayer started his project with the genes from the five men and created clones that have 36 chromosomes. So there's nothing special about they're pair of chromosomes, therefor he called them 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. That's why 17 is called 17. And when he "...discovered the true power of 47 chromosomes...", he called him 47. It's that simple. But Ort Mayer wanted 47 to gain contact with the ICA so he let 47 escape (cut scene after first level of C47, Ort Mayer was laughing while 47 escaped). Though he couldn't have all his clones escaping so he developed the 48 which is loyal and trusty and that will only follow orders.

I think he's just taking care of the crazy people in the alysum, he knows what Ort Meyer is doing and probably assisting him a bit with the clone project. Also, he is the guy Ort Meyer sets 47 up with. Though I don't really know why 47 "takes the bait". He probably wan't to get rid of Ort Meyer anyway.

Well, Smith said there is a basement with all the answers. Wouldn't you get interested when you hear that?
47 didn't know that Ort-Meyer existed (As we never saw him during the Training until The Setup.), so why would he like to kill someone he never even know? Why walk away if there could be a casino in there! Turned out just to be a basement. 47 wanted to know where this guy with all the answers is, get 10 clones on his tail, 47 gets annoyed, pumping them full of lead, sees a professor who wants to hug 47, 47 thinks 'omg gay' en shoots him too, he gets in a white room and has some credits rolling above him. Thats why he got down there*

Have you read Ort Mayers jurnal on page one? They have met, though I think Smith was just saying that because the player didn't know yet.

I think 47 wanted to kill Ortmeyer after all the shit Ortmeyer was talking till 48s were trying to kill 47....Anyone would do the same....The old bastards voice was pissing me off....
" I created you my son, I knew I was on the right path...but you have some problems with subordination we can't have that, can we? Not at all like 48...."...so 47 payed him for that.

47 realised he wasnt wanted alive by Ort-Meyer because he had gone beyond Ort-Meyer's expectations...which is why he created 48's which were much more "normal", loyal and obedient to their "creator". But how do i kill a perfect assassin? Simple, get the 48's to do the job (which ofc they failed in doing)

Also, if you don't kill Ort-Meyer, so you get stun-gunned (..) you'll get the cutscene from the training. 'Wake up, wake up my friend...'. What is the meaning of that?

After some editing of 47. He thinks for himself, and was setting new standards, dont you understand!

lol I didn't say anything about that (though I regocnize the qoute). And editing 47 so he thinks for himself? He has always done that, that was his biggest flaw in Ort Mayers opinion.

I meant Ort-Meyer first modifies 47 so he won't think for himself and only does what is told him to do :o

nobody's arguing against that. :suspicious: :P

Heh, I think you mean't that nicely. Or else I'll get very... err... thirsty. *opens bottle of cola*

you sound like ort-meyer.

It was from his monologue.
But, you know, I like that guy - and his voice. Everybody hates him and his voice, but I like it. No I'm not crazy.
In fact I'm trying to imitate him. Just to annoy friend with Ort-Meyer's lines.
Nice on school during Biology, talking about those chromosomes and how you created 47...
