I'm working through the game with the intent of completing each mission as fast as possible, with a few different sets of conditions. Right now I have two different video series: Speed Silent Assassin and Speed Pro. The conditions for the video series are:

Speed Silent Assassin: Complete the mission as fast as possible on Pro difficulty and get a rating of Silent Assassin.

Speed Pro: Complete the mission as fast as possible on Pro difficulty.

I will keep track of the game version played in each video in case any game behaviour I have depended on is changed in future patches of the game. And of course, no cheats or other "helper" programs are used; the game is played entirely as is.

Current News (June 26, 2006)

I added the Speed Pro videos section. These videos will be speedruns on Pro difficulty with no constraints, so the intent is only to finish the mission as fast as possible on Pro difficulty. I finished the first Speed Pro video: Curtains Down in 0:27.

Videos

Videos are posted in both streaming versions (usually bad quality with unreadable text, but good for a quick viewing) and as a direct download version (best quality, text is readable - this is the video that was uploaded to any streaming mirrors).

At some point in each video I open the menu and click Load Game or Save Game to show that I am playing on Pro difficulty, as on Pro difficulty this shows a message box that says "No save games are allowed when playing on difficulty level Professional."

If you are having trouble viewing the direct download version of a video: they are compressed with the XviD codec (download it at http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml).

That is pretty impressive. These are definitely the fastest runs I've seen. I can't help but think you've cheated the "bodies found" stat though, if you've stuck around a few more seconds those bodies would have been found and made it impossible to get SA.

But still, pretty darn impressive.

Although curtains down was faster, I think A New Life was more impressive because he had to go through more guards.

Sick timing and impressive vids. The no bodies found part is indeed a bit a hard to believe.
In my pro games the guards tend to start shooting rather quickly if I stay too long in the yellow area of the meter.

It's possible if you just replay the missions alot, and I mean ALOT. 150k per mission (after you have completed the game)

Yes, some of the timing on the mission exiting before bodies are found is very delicate. Also, bodies found that were accidental deaths have no affect on the bodies found statistic and do not affect the Silent Assassin rating.

In my pro games the guards tend to start shooting rather quickly if I stay too long in the yellow area of the meter.

The meter rising from yellow into red seems to be proportional to how long guards have vision of you while you are in a yellow area. The more you run away from them and break their vision, the longer it takes to rise into red. It's even possible that guards will stop following you if you are running away from them while in a yellow area.

When you complete a mission you've already finished before, you get paid only the ratings bonus amount. You don't get paid the objectives amount, although it may be the case that you get paid part of the objectives amount for completing optional objectives that you did not complete the first time through, but I haven't tested this.

Regarding "Curtains Down", I found a similar way to do this last week. Although not as quick, my method takes about 46 seconds or so(10 seconds less is a true feat!), but it's still under a minute.

This method does not require a bomb going off...

Run up to the third floor from the left-side stairs. Go to the next door over to the right from the guard that is up there. Pick the lock. Move to the left so that Delahunt's head can barely be seen. Take a clean headshot with your scoped Silverballer. Then move to the right, but not too far so that the people near the stage can't see you. Kill D'Alvade using the same pistol sniping method when he walks on stage. Now, bolt to the door. A clean run can be done in 46 seconds, and maybe less. This also takes advantage of the fact that, if you are fast enough, the bodies will not technically register as found before you escape.

The reason shap's run was so fast was he went to the right side of the stage instead of the left, so he got an earlier shot at D'Alvade. I didn't even think of using a bomb to distract everyone so you could sneak over there. Good show!

Also, shap, why do you attempt to load a game on these runs? Is there some glitch you are taking advantage of or something?
