And to think it lost Best Picture to Titanic. What a disgrace.

Absolutely. LA Confidential is in my top 3, easily, and it disgusted me when I found out it lost to Titanic (I was only 10 or so when the film was released). That said, at least the Academy was willing to give out Oscars to popular, blockbuster movies back then.

I've failed in so many ways, there's no way this pursuit is just going to be another one.

I watched Shutter Island for the first time last night.

Parts of it I found to be a tad slow moving, but it's definitely extremely well acted and well directed.

The problem with Shutter Island is that it all culminates in you watching someone explain it on a black board.

I went and saw The Hunger Games. I went in with no idea about what to expect and enjoyed pretty much everything. The costumes were pretty wacky and the ending didn't really give you an idea of what could happen next, but it was kind of a good thing. So yeah, would recommend.

Iron Sky

People need to be honest with themselves and take off their rose-colored glasses. Iron Sky is overrated (8/10 on IMDB, gee) and sucks pretty much. From my point of view the comedy/satire aspect does not justify all these plotholes, poor characters and lame jokes. But thanks to a good marketing people won't mind that and find it awesome nonetheless, just because.

Titanic 3D At an IMAX Theater
It was the best movie experience I ever had, I cried at the end, it was my first time seeing the whole movie, it was a heart wrenching experience for me, I almost cried at the end of the movie. The audio and visuals at the theater were the best I've ever seen. It felt like I was *there* and I've never said that before. The audio and video were lossless since they switched over to a digital movie format. The screen at this theater was one of the biggest in the world too. Just an overall amazing experience.

Not sure if want to want to watch. I can imagine the bit where the boat tips up looking grand. I let loose a few tears at the Titanic film too, and what! The way all the time goes so fast, and she is an old woman recollecting the events. I find the whole subject of the movement of time to be powerful subject matter. Expecially combined with artifical life forms. There's four films that made me shed a tear in my life, this, AI, Terminator 2, and Bicentennial Man which I didn't even enjoy at all infact I would never watch it again. Hooorrible film about a robot that lives forever and all his friends die and he wants to become human just so that he can die too. AI was sadass!

Last film I watched was 21 Jump Street. All in all, was great, both funny and enjoyable.

Watched the latest 'The Thing' last night, and damn, it was pretty good. Not quite the standard of the 1982 version but it was still tense, mysterious and brutal. Particularly like the tie-ins to its sequel.

Hey guys,

Do you know of a comedy based in Hell?

A full-length movie, I mean, not a sketch (such as Rowan Atkinson's). Thanks!
