Whenever I save my game in Hitman: Blood Money, it doesn't actually save.

It tells me it is successful but once I quit the same and run it again, the 'saved game' is gone.

I am using Windows Vista and I have tried v1.0 and v1.2 of the game.

Any ideas?

Where abouts are you saving?

The saves you make within the mission are not available after quitting the game. This is normal. If you save to your profile at the end of a mission it should be available after you quit. If it isn't there is a problem somewhere.

I start the first level, walked a little then saved (just to test). Why is there a save button always active if it isn't always available?

In case you want to reload again before you quit the game. *shrug* I never understood it myself, but apparently its a 'feature'.

It's more of a temporary 'check-point' system, rather than a game save. Just make sure you save between missions as these are the important ones

Yeah, the search button has been shut off. Appearantly no one used it, so they said fuck it and got rid of it. - Captain_Steve

OK, I'll solve this.

When you want to stop playing save the game.

Then,

Hit Alt+Tab

Press Start
My Documents
Hitman Blood Money
Profiles
(Profiles name you saved on)

Select all but the Profile.pro & settings.dat files

Copy them to another directory.

Then when you want to start from that place, boot the game, and open the level you saved on. Then save.

Open up the

C:\Documents and Settings\(Active User)\My Documents\Hitman Blood Money\Profiles\(active profile directory)

Then delete all but the two files mentioned above.

Take the files that you copied before you left the game, and paste them back into the original directory.

Select load.

Select the only Save spot.

Have fun from there.

If you need help with this method then ask for more help.

Oh, you can also copy the saves after you exit the game, but have them placed into another folder by the time you choose to reboot the game.

I have a couple of question about your savegame system.

When you get to this point.

Then when you want to start from that place, boot the game, and open the level you saved on. Then save.

When you say "level" do you mean to save at whatever chapter you're playing? And I also assume that you have to alt-tab out of the game again, correct?

Oh and one more thing. When you say;

Take the files that you copied before you left the game, and paste them back into the original directory.

Select load

When you "select load" after the above process, I assume that means that you have to boot up the game to do that. Is that right? Or not???

I obviously don't know much about this stuff, but really don't like the save system in the game, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok,

Here's the thorough version.

When you want to stop playing save the game. Leave the game Paused.

Then,

Hit Alt+Tab (Leave the game running)

Press Start (Windows Screen)

Select
-My Documents
--Hitman Blood Money
---Profiles
----(Profiles name you saved on)

Select all but the Profile.pro & settings.dat files

Copy them to another directory.
Like C:\Saved files\

You May close the game now.

Then, when you want to start from that place,

Start the game's .exe, and open the level/chapter (A New Life, Death on the Mississippi, etc) you saved on.

Then save when, you're able to move 47.

Leave the game Paused.

(Alt+Tab out of the game)

Back to Windows...

Open up the

C:\Documents and Settings\(Active User)\My Documents\Hitman Blood Money\Profiles\(active profile directory)

Then delete all but the two files mentioned above. (Profile.pro & settings.dat)

Take the files that you copied before you left the game, and paste them back into the original directory.

C:\Documents and Settings\(Active User)\My Documents\Hitman Blood Money\Profiles\(active profile directory)

(Alt + Tab back to the game)

Select load.

Select the only Save spot.

Play.
