 As you all know Half-Life owns. I've just played the first one on PS2 and I've been keeping track of its sequels (sadly not its expansions). So discuss the story here or all else you would like to know. I look forward to buying the orange box perhaps on my new future laptop or on a PS3(by Christmas :hmm: ). Anywho, you should be able to find anything related to each Half-Life game in the following links(minus the mods).

I loved the first one and Opposing Force, but HL2 for me just didn't feel like it was the sequel of the Half Life. I would love to try that mod that converst the story and missions of HL into source engine.

Is it out yet? Anyway, would I be better off buying the Orange Box on a laptop or console? I mean aside from its contents, would I be able to play the expansions and what not on a console?

Mmm, I'm keen to play it, since i thought the first one was fun, but the graphics just didn't cut it for me, i don't think i even finished the game. I got up to this bit in space and it was just wierd.

Black Mesa Source has the same graphics, the physics is all that's changed.

I've finished the original Half-Life something like three times already. It's still fun, the marines were the best bit. Blowing stuff up into guts is a lost art in video games, they should bring it back.

No i enjoyed it, it was just i got to this bit where it wasn't really clear which direction to go, so i got bored just loping around in nothingness.

If we're talking mods I thought that Blue Shift was one of the best, it was pretty good to play it though and see how allot of techniques and tricks the Mapping community had developed were implemented into it.

In all honesty i thought it was better designed than HalfLife in terms of level complexity and originality

Blue Shift isn't a mod. It's an expansion pack made by Gearbox.

shut your fucking mouth

Half Life Source is just same graphics new physics. Black mesa source is a 3rd party mod for half life 2 which updates all the graphics and is basically a current gen half life 1.

Whoops, my bad.

So it's kind of like that total conversion mod for vice city that turns it into liberty city with choppers and bikes?

Will Black Mesa Source be available over steam?

Will we have to download it from a website? Because I don't think replaying Half-Life one with shiny awesome graphics and cooler-looking enemies is worth waiting for the download.

What am I saying?!? It will be awesome and I will totally leave my computer on for the required week to get that game from the website to my computer with the mad slow internet connection!

Check out the awesomeness of Black Mesa Source here There is no release date for it yet. Valve cannot legally endorse mods of the source engine so you wouldn't see it on steam.

Have the expansions ever made it to the consoles? And if not, how can we acquire the mods(assuming they are only attainable on pc)?

Also, which is the best bundle pack that includes at least OF and Blueshift? I've seen some that include CS and TF Classic, are those games still played? Here are some that I know of: http://www.amazon.co...p...1278&sr=8-3

Can anyone explain to me why this gun model looks so shitty?

The rest of my graphics and weapons look fine....

EDIT:Also, is it just me or have they improved the sound effects for the weapons? Particularly the machine gun, it sounds a lot beefier than I remember it being.
I'll check out the older games later to confirm I guess. Right now I'm quite enjoying Episode 2

Darkness covers all I see and touch, No feeling of pain just sorrow.
My hand loses grip of the sword I hold, And I turn to become a true shadow.

It looks like the MG also looks kinda bleh. I guess it has to do with your graphics card.
