You may, Or may not have heard that in 2010 Marvel intend to release to self financed movies. 'Iron Man 2' and 'Thor' (the latter of which will be introduced in the former)

Then in 2011 the intend to release the horribly titled 'The First Avenger: Captain America' and 'The Avengers'.

To me this is very exceity, finally seeing the Marvel universe cross over on the screen, while some writers/directors could take advantage of this I have confidence that Marvel will keep it under control, which will lead to a very cool Anthology of movies all under the same umbrella.

Already we've had Nick Fury in Iron Man, as well a speculation that Captain America's shield is also in Starks lab (but to me just looks like his hologram projector table) And Tony Stark is in 'The Incredible Hulk' as well as speculation that the serum that turns Blonsky into Abom may also be the super soldier serum that turns Steve Rogers into the Cap.

Anyway, I was just wondering what everyone would like to see from the endless possibilities of these already announced characters in the avengers movie, which is said to include Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and I can only assume Nick Fury. But seeing as a Doctor Strange movie is yet to be in production, and Guillermo Del Toro set to be very bust with the Hobbit i believe marvel should buy the rights from Paramount.

Discuss..

I think this is awesome! But I don't know very much about the Avengers, is Spider-Man part of them too?

I think almost very marvel character has been affiliated with them at some point.

But Spider-man is a property of Sony while all the names i listed are the sole property of Marvel. For movies anyway.
So ol' Webhead won't be making an appearance.

That sucks, I've always wanted a movie with every marvel character on the big screen so far. But Iron Man and Hulk make up for that ;)

I'm only seeing the Hulk because Tony Stark is in it, even if it is just a cameo appearance.

The new Wolverine just looks like a cameo fest.

Wolverine
Sabertooth
Deadpool
The Blob
Agent Zero
Beak
Silver Fox
Gambit

Among some others. I have no Faith.
But that isn't a Marvel self produced movie, X-men is owned by Fox.

And Yeah I mentioned the Cap movie in the opening post.

Well, it's being directed by Zack Snyder. If you liked what he did to 300 you'll probably like this one too. Not to mention Snake is writing it.

Don Cheadle is indeed awesome. But recasting sucks a large assortment of ass.

Added by Edit:

That being said, the Avengers movie worries me. It seems a hard task to successfully merge the different super-hero franchises in a seamless and "believable" fashion. I mean, let's get real here... the Avengers demands that Iron Man somehow exist in the same Universe as Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, and while the basic premise of Iron Man certainly isn't "real" it is a hell of a lot more grounded than Thor.

As I understand it, the individual franchises (for instance Iron Man) will be helping this process along... which means that Iron Man 2 might be tainted by all sorts of bullshit in order to accommodate the transition to the Avengers movie.

I mean, it could probably be done, and it could be fucking awesome. But one great movie (Iron Man) from Marvel Studios is not enough for me to have any kind of faith in them.

Robert Downey Jr. has seemed, in recent interviews, to have little faith i merging the fantastical with the more realistic hero's.

He said something along the lines, if it isn't done right it will suck.

In an ideal world I'd like to ignore Iron Man and Iron Man 2 and just have the Avengers movie seperately from that, and say, that you never see Stark from outside of the suit.

But seeing the contrast between Iron Man the hero and Tony Stark the self-absorbed asshole is part of the charm of the character.

Having him appear only in the suit would be like if you had a Spiderman movie without Peter Parker.
