Plot

Not a lot of known about the plot, very few details. Taking place 10 years after the original Resident Evil, Chris Redfield, now a member of BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) has been sent into Africa, or more specifically, Kijuju, to investiage a recent incident. Kijuju is near a line of active volcanoes, which threaten to release a preciously dormant virus.

Looking forward to this. My only gripe is the animations and lack of ragdoll.

Isn't there a thread for this already? I don't really care that much, it's nicer with a new thread.

I like how it's hot and sunny for a change, instead of dark and ghostly, although the zombies run as fast as olympic champions.

I thought Leon is the main character. In one trailer I could swear that was him, when the chick said that she can protect herself, he said with Leon's voice "Don't worry, my last partner was a woman too".
Anyway, not really interested in it, since it's basically RE4 all over again, but in a different setting.

I love the whole "eyes adjusting to the light/darkness in a room" thing. I can see they're going to whack in a lot of jumpy moments.

@Sclera - nope. Just a few games use it as of now and RE5 isn't one of them.

Lack of Ragdoll could be kickass, look at CoD4.

Once TFU gets out there, hopefully more games will see the way forward and use Euphoria.

I thought there was as well, but a search turned up fruitless. I did post a lot about it in my E3/random game topic, so it could be that you're thinking of.

Nah, I was thinking of the general Resident Evil thread, but it's good, this one deserves it's own.

Seeing it in action, I've lost a lot of interest in it. Nothing feels very new. Even the sound effects are the same.

Indeed. I don't see a point in playing it at all - gameplay is old, same with the enemies. RE's trademark cheesy dialogs and ridiculous story aren't worth it too.

Also, the woman sidekick's AI was close to braindead in some gameplay videos, she was just standing and looking around, even though a chainsaw prick was near her.

Meh, well at least it'll be fun if you liked 4.

More like if you liked 4, there's little more to draw you to 5 other than seamless controls, co-op, and prettier graphics. With the way this is turning out, Capcom may end up doing this to death like all the other masterpieces they've had.

Well what more were you looking for? Seemless coop is amazingly fun.

Faster and more intelligent enemies, for one. They don't act nearly as able as they do in the cutscenes. It's just the Ganados all over again, it looks like.

Yeah, true, though I guess it won't be the downfall of the game.
And who knows, some smarter enemies may lay in wait.

If you look at the trailers, all of the sequences, enemies, even sounds and animations are the same. It feels so cheap, it's ridiculous.
I'd like to see a good plot and decent dialogs for once, some new moves and tricks + brand new enemies at least.
