Actually....

PSYCHIATRIST These are medically trained Doctors who have chosen to specialise in treating mental disorders. The only ones qualified to prescribe medication. Some psychiatrists have undergone extra training in therapy and offer similar things to psychologists or psychotherapists.

PSYCHOTHERAPIST Psychotherpists are usually highly trained in one particular type of therapy. They have an in depth knowledge of that therapy (eg Psychodynamic), but are often not overly familiar with other forms.

PSYCHOLOGIST Anyone who has obtained a Psychology degree is entitled to call themselves a Psychologist. However, there are many different kinds of Psychologist, and the people who are qualified to offer therapy are usually called Clinical Psychologists or Counselling Psychologists. These people undergo an extra 3 year training which usually qualifies them up to a Doctorate level. This can be a little confusing as they are Doctors of Psychology, not medicine. They are usually trained in a variety of different therapies and are in a good position to assess you for the type of therapy you might need, and often are able to provide it.

Hmm, that doesn't sound right. Surely he should be getting to the psychological root of why you're anxious, and overcoming that with you, instead of medicating you up (more). I thought that should be a last resort.

I have a thing called "Trait Anxiety" which is genetic. So there is no real root there. But he was just the first step. His job there was to just give me guidance, that's why he was referring me to someone else. He was just a Husband of a friend of my dads who was willing to see me. Head of Mental Health at a hospital and I got an appointment with him a day after i broke down. I'm already on medication, so he was just increasing the dosage until i can get the help I need, because like I said, i will be put on a waiting list and that won't happen overnight. But i'm still taking the medication for depression as well, and that isn't something that works so well without medication.

If it's any help at all Choked when my anxiety was particularly bad I found a 20-30 minute walk helped. I do have an advantage of living in a quiet area with woodland nearby, I understand in busy / more populated areas going for a walk while suffering anxiety isn't easy. It did help massively though, I've no idea why, it seemed to give a general mood lift and thus lower anxiety. Finding little things like that will really help you, especially if you're currently on waiting lists and not settled in to a particular therapy / treatment.

Moving out! Yay!
Much earlier than anticipated! Argh!
Starting a regular job that covers the bills! Yay!
That starts at half 6 in the morning! Argh!

The week coming up is going to get REALLY hectic, but it should be worth it to get some bloody freedom. Working from 6.30 to 10 every morning, plus extras, but that leaves the rest of the day free to write/work my second job/misc.

Sorry to hear about your anxiety, though, C.

Choked you seem to be cooping with your anxiety pretty well. Best of luck!

Also Scar, you got some nice working hours a little short for a day but nice non the less.

And I made a decision that I'm taking the year after service off at university (what's it called when you take a year off at uni for some reason?) so I could do catch up couple of subject from the 1st year and get a day job for a year so I could support myself a little better on my last year at uni.

Ah I'm trying to get him to do it whilst I'm filming it. He's not getting it all in a row and he still sometimes puts his index finger up instead of his thumb XD

He did send me this good luck video for a job interview I had:

Good luck

I didn't get the job, so he didn't eat for a week.

Like what Keyser :)?

@Fallout that will handle those games no prob but you would have been able to get a better rig if you'd have built it yourself, Including a card that performs around 40% better than that one. and cheaper too

In a few months I'll probably stick a 580 in there, I'm in no rush though, it;ll be more than enough for what I need. I just couldn't be bothered to build the whole thing myself this time especially as money is going to be tighter once my uni course starts. I'd rather pay more now and have a 2 year gurantee on the whole system than have to worry about fixing / replacing things myself :)

I'm only buying it to make Keyser jealous anyway.

Alright guys, some of you might know that it's closing on the anniversary of 9/11 and I know some people are going to be hit hard by that fact alone. I haven't seen a discussion about this here, so let me be the first to pose it. Where were you on 9/11, what are you doing, how were you affected, how was your country affected?

I know some of you have said this before in different threads, like me I was to young to realize what the impact of 9/11 was at the time, it took me a few years to fully appreciate the attacks for what they really were. I was 9 and, I still remember my grandfather had pulled me out of school early since he thought that they might try and attack Boston. I also remember being home and watching news reports all day, most of my family was huddled into my tiny dining room watching the TV set.
