Someone mentioned how dismemberment was an unnecessary feature, and I agree to a point, but shotguns are pretty god damn devastating weapons. Limbs being blown off and heads exploding like they have a stick of dynamite in their brain is pretty over the top though. However if done right and realistically there doesn't need to be full on dismemberment in order to make shotgun head shots and limb hits brutally epic and awesome. Fingers getting blown apart, hobbling enemies with leg shots, blowing a portion of an enemies face off, etc. That would be pretty cool and reasonable depending on the proximity of the shooter to the target.

Can I just say how much nostalgia kicked in when I saw this?

I agree with your sentiment Frantz, I'm pleased to see they're going to give us some variety - and it's a good thing to have parts of the game set in snowy New York. A lot of nostalgia indeed.

Yes, even I agree with Franz Fuchs. The photo was very familiar, and had a good old feeling of nostalgia. I just hope they expand on this. Like, have Max Payne revisit a few key locations. Give some background information about their past. Actually, I'd even like it if they would have Max Payne return to New York in the later parts of the game. I think mixing in old locations with other locations and putting in a good story would work for this game.

"Huh? Who was it?"

Looks like it will have tons of stuff to do, not to mention there are some things that are not clear, which means there's more stuff that isn't even revealed yet.

Hope the game has a decent length. But even if it doesn't, I know I'll be replaying it a lot. Those fucking euphoria physics.

Also, lol at the trophy names for game completion. Like the reference to previous games too, like "Dearest of all my friends" and "That old familiar feeling". So much fucking nostalgia.

New York Minute confirmed.

Yeah, I was sceptical at first, seeing Max in sunny São Paulo with no hair, long beard and a Tommy Vercetti shirt.

^now you see what I mean?
Anyway, good to see now that some of it is in New York like the old ones.

My god, I was talking about the new screen shots which showed Max in New York which weren't shown before. The first screenshots were in Brazil... <_<

Initial information and images only suggested that MP3 was set in Brazil, subsequent and more recently revealed screenshots over past months have given a very clear indication that there is more than one location, which is New York.

Don't think either of the first two were really that long, but I don't think either of those had to justify a $60 price tag either. And no; adding in a multi-player to Max Payne doesn't justify $60; Max Payne has always carried itself with the single player and needs to continue to do so. At least for me. I can hope.

EDIT: Steam has the game for Pre-order now with some bonus stuff (depending on region).

http://store.steampowered.com/app/204100/

Buy it now, and you get Max Payne 1 and 2 for free. That's right; free copies of games we all already bought. Some of them twice!

I was fairly indifferent about this until I saw the bullet time video. Now I need this game all the way inside me. Though it might have to wait for Dragons Dogma (unless that turns out shit)

Good thing I never bought a copy of either Max Payne game in a long time, and I don't "own" them anymore. So thats actually cool for me.

Since Sam Lake is the one who wrote the original games, the story and style in this comic will probably feel more like the originals than Max Payne 3 will.

When you kill for money, there are no rules.

The Small fixes thread. IOI employees and Hitman developers, please take a look at the thread. At the moment there are about 80 small or smallish things that the fans would like to see improved. Many would improve gameplay and shouldn't be too difficult to fix before Absolution is released.

Well considering the Remedy devs have come out and said Max Payne 3 is a flat out incredible game, I'm not exactly worried.
