My cousin just returned from the US, where he was supporting his movie at the Sundance Film Festival. I was bored and started looking through all the stuff he brought home. In the catalogue from the Sundance I saw very similar barcode with 47 in the end.

Don't you think it might be the first advertisement for Hitman 5?

This has to be the most far fetched theory so far. No I don't think it has anything to do with the next Hitman game. Let's assume -just for the sake of it- it would be something Hitman related then it would definitely point to the Hitman movie. Who knows, poisoned buns or something.

The white donut box is slightly reflected on the smooth table top, but the black UPC code is not. Therefore, it is a concocted, photoshop'd image.

It's a very nice photograph, indeed. It says style over substance, though. Jelly doughnuts are not stacked in a box that way, rather on their side. The obviously photoshopped UPC code that doesn't reflect on the table. The back of the box doesn't form anything, there's just a corner fold that extends off the page. It's just a superfluous "beauty" shot.

For a Hitman teaser with this theme, I would have preferred the appropriate box with doughnuts, one missing from box, laying outside close enough to the UPC code. One bite out of doughnut with jelly seeping out with maybe a few jelly drops spattered around table and side of box to give the appearance it was dropped (after a poisonous bite of course). This doesn't give away any extra details than the glamour shot, but also doesn't scream "fake" or "staged".

You can barely see the reflection of the box. You're expecting to see the damn barcode reflected 100% clear on the table, but since you can't you automatically assume it's photoshopped? I'm not saying it wasn't put there for aesthetic purposes, but you're reasoning for the "obvious photoshop" is fuckin stupid.

What would be cool is if the 110509 in the first part of the barcode is May 9th, 2011 and they revealed something that day. Not counting on it but 'twould be cool.

I don't get why people have to be so confrontational... Simply, if you can see a white box reflected on a white surface, then you can obviously see a black upc code reflected with much more clarity. It's not rocket science, and its not "fuckin stupid" as you put it. Chillax.
A black vellum-surface laminate counter top would have fixed the no-reflection problem as well as tied in the Hitman color-scheme some better.

@Acid Burn - Could you possibly post a picture showing the facing page in the catalog? It might not be a teaser ad at all, but rather an editorial photo for the facing article. I can make out a "Y" and and "S" which could be the end spelling of "jellY doughnutS", which would in turn refer to the jelly donut awards:

One interesting thing on use of DOUGHNUTS is

In BLOOD MONEY : CHAPTER - A NEW LIFE. Agent 47 does use DOUGHNUTS , Syringes them for some purpose i can't remember, probably to kill Sinistra or some shit.

It could be a hint, a hitman film coming out on 5th of September? I hardly think it would be game related if it's at a FILM festival. Yes, the moment I saw the pic New Life came to my mind. Frankly I don't care for the movie, I want the friggin' game! I just don't want to believe any tell-tales anymore. I could even interpert Nick's comments as a poke "you're looking at it and not realizing what you're seeing!" But...*sigh*...like said, don't wanna get hyped for nothing. Only an official word from IO will do at this stage. And I'm only interested in the game, not the film.

I would also point out that the second part of the number of the bar code matches the second part of the number of the bar code of agent 47

640509-040147 <- Agent 47 bar code number (according to wikipedia)

These numbers differ only on the first 3 digits. I wonder why Nick doesn't shot down this rumor, like he usually does. It either is too accurate or too ridiculous for him to say anything.
