Are we all listening to the same audio here? He doesn't sound like a little kid to me. Though he does sound like Christian Bale.

You're not getting it, he's clearly putting on the tired old 'tough guy' voice. A little kid's idea of what a tough guy sounds like, similar to the over top Batman voice made famous by Christian Bale. It's just embarrassing. Overused, bland, generic and lifeless. They need to fix this immediately

Why am I still following this game? They've betayed us all. I know it. The only way I'd give this game a chance now is if Bateson came back. They need to listen to us, they really do. Because the fans who supported this series feel absolutely let down and insulted by all these America-centric developments. Hitman is a European thing, it's something from our part of the world. That's why I like it so much, because it was cold and calculating, not loud and bombastic. But what do we have now? A complete betrayal of the fans.
Fuck, can anyone here give me a single reason to be optimistic about this game? Bateson is gone, the voice of Diana is gone, the exciting locations are gone. I feel like I've been bent over a table and raped by Michael Jackson, Osama bin Laden, John Leslie and the Harlem Globetrotters.

Seriously, is there anything to be optimistic about? I never thought I'd give up on this series but they have successfully managed to push me to that point.

I am sorta wondering why Ampburner and Kent didn't notice the drastically different voice. Perhaps they heard different audio?

They probably didn't see the game on a huge setup like the E3 demo had, but just a regular HDTV with a dev kit PS3 hooked up. I'm sure it would be easy to miss under those circumstances if you weren't specifically listening for it.

I wished we can talk about the audio, and not discuss the voice so much, already feels someone is going to make a stupid trend like 'Bateman' or some other stupid shit. I dont want to hear any more stupid shit in these forums to be honest.

HMF is awesome like a Power Rangers introduction, but sometimes it needs some Sesame Street like manners.

@Mistah47: Got a link to Sloan talking about things?

@Swartz: Lack of attention + optimistic thinking. It's not like they had a reason to suspect anything back then and overall they seemed to like what they saw.

Well, either that or he sounds like a kid who smokes too many cigars

Okay, it might not suit 47, but I think I should see how the voice fits in with the animations before judging. I'm just saying that, as Bateson's return is probably a lost battle, the alternative isn't bad. And yes, I do find this guy more serious (at least the tone is more emotional) than Bateson. Sorry if I don't like 47 to have a robot voice, but I think a tough guy's dark voice fits in better than some neutral voice (although I agree Bateson had a unique ice cold voice which fitted in perfectly, I just didn't to completely like his tone).

So after waiting patiently several years for the return of 47, a character defined by one man's voice somehow you completely overlook the fact that he now strangely sounds drastically different from before and this because you didn't see it on a big enough screen? Not to mention the fact that you're painstakingly jotting down every little detail of the experience but the characters voice wasn't important enough to notice?

Thanks. I sure wasn't expecting that article to pop up again. I remember seeing that back when it was news but I (or anyone else probably) could never have guessed how things were turning out...

Guys, deal with it. Agent 47 is now a young American man, Diana has had a sip from the fountain of youth and the Hitman soundtrack has been copied from a Jason Bourne movie. I think IO did the right thing here. This is pretty badass, much like the trailer where 47 is tearing apart that house, just like the real one would do! I'm very excited. FINALLY, we get some Hollywood feel into a HITMAN game!

It's not the video, it's the sound. Standard TV speakers vs. an elaborate setup with surround sound. Not to mention the setting; they probably were chatting through the demo at IO; the E3 demo was held in a theater where everyone was (mostly) silently watching.

IO: Bateson is still available and I know for a fact would enjoy voicing 47 again.

You guys can't be fucking serious if that audio is of the new voice actor. He's terrible.

This should be everybody's signature. Maybe then IO will listen to us.

Honestly, just imagine Bateson saying "I never left".

Consider what that line is literally saying. The only thing that would get my interest to this game from 0% that it is at now to about 40-60% is if they re-released the demo with Bateson saying that. Duke wasn't gone forever as many thought, neither should 47 have left. I'm sorry, but the way it is now, 47 left for good.

I just hope that IO will see what the fan's are saying and will make the right decision to have David come back because if they don't all I can say is another Kane and Lynch game. Sad but it will be most likely be true. So IO if you want the Hitman game to stay how it was made so well in the past then listen to you're fan's.

Imagine if they did this with Solid Snake. People would just go nuts. I guess they thought they'd get away with it, and they probably will. IO will earn a lot of money on this title. It's a shame they chose to shit all over the people who helped make this franchise great, namely Kyd, Bateson and McKee.
