wow, i must say im impressed.
i have been a hitman fan since i was 10 years old, when i first tried it at a friends house.
i too, was very sceptical about the "instinct mode" thing, but it really did not look THAT bad, kinda cool with the flames and the sparkling sound...not that i will use it so much though, maybe in very difficult situations, but we shall see...

also loved the dialogue, and the cover system. i think it suits mr.47 perfectly.
i loved the atmosphere too, just like a hitman game should be. cold, dark and tense, when 47 snapped the one cops head with a police baton it made it shiver down my spine, and put a big smile on my face:)

the only thing i disliked was the new voice, it so far from bateson as you can get, and i hate it. and im still waiting the hear the reason IO sacked him...

but im still looking forward to the game, and hopefully i will adapt to the new voice. but then again, whe shall see...

Only few Questions.

1) DLC??? DLC a month , 5 missions each. Whats ur view IO?
2) Guy in the elevator has messed up voice, doesnt look realistic.
3) Need to improve animation for picking up the statue.
4) Option to turn-off instinct
5) mini-map option to turn mini-map OFF, as i dont like clutter on-screen and there are lot of people who are like me, Example: Assassin Creed, even though the icons are great help, there was option to clear all the clutter. I love it, so did many other folks.

6) How many weapons can 47 hold at a time, INFINITE like last HITMAN Games???

Please post your questions to IOI here. It's a thread specifically made for that purpose. You'll also find some already answered questions there as well.

I don't think that word "linear" appropriate to the situation. Otherwise Hidden Valley, At the Gates, Basement Killing, Graveyard Shift, God of Jungle etc also are linear. The main purpose of this mission is to leave place of "elimination" which will be in the full game. Pay attention on the library - there are at least several ways to reach the door which lead to "helicopter scene".

I still feel like it's linear in the sense that your only objective is to get from one point to another. And I see there are other ways to get around, but there still really only is one way to complete the objective, and that is to move forward. Again, I'm not against this, I just hope it will indeed be a mix of these "on the run" missions where you have to improvise and normal Hitman "taking out target" missions. That would be a great improvement for the series in my opinion.

Nick has pretty much confirmed that is the case. I'll dig the quote out now.

EDIT: Quotes, it seems:

Will the enemies know 47 is in there in most of the levels? In previous Hitman games the enemies (Requiem and some others being exceptions) didn't have a clue he was there... Until it was too late and 47 was far away. So can we just walk in the suit like any other person without cops shooting us in other levels than what was shown in the e3 demo? To me part of the charm has been just walking in the suit, scanning the area, at my own pace, before finding a disguise and getting the job done.
That depends on the level. The E3 demo showed a level where Hitman was on the run – it’s not going to be like that all the time, of course. There will be levels where you will go in and nobody will know you and you can go totally old-school Hitman on those.

Will we have the freedom to finish each contarct the way we please (sniping, bomb, accident,) or will there be special methods in each mission for diversity?
That depends a little bit on the levels. Some levels are very open and free while others are a little more narrow in terms of what you can do – either because of size or location (e.g. using a sniper rifle inside a small building isn’t really all that effective). You will always have the choice of gameplay style ranging from silent assassin to madman to whatever fits you in-between.

Practically all missions in Hitman are "linear". There are enter and exit, but all differences only in the targets and the places.

HAHA! Fantastic! I always loved IOI for something like this :D

@daniel
Will there be any other easter eggs like in the previous games? Danish or other international references? In Hitman: silent assasin we had 'pizza med lort på' on English 'pizza with shit on'. - something like that?

I never said that it was a bad thing, just that it's rare for a developer to talk to an often hostile fan base.

Well, here are my views here:
The new demo footage is good looking, but not all that great.
First, the A.I definitely seems to have improved. They behave like how they'd be expected to, mostly. Yes, it is lacking in a few places, as when 47 breaks a statue,or when he catches a ceiling, but still a decent improvement as far as combat and reaction to situations are concerned.
Second, the cover system looks a bit convenient to me. It feels like as if the game automatically selects a cover when you use the cover button. It would be better if the game allows you to move on your own from one cover to another, rather than selecting a cover for you.
Third, I have a few problems concerning Instinct . Now, I know it should give an idea of the surrounding environment, and be used to get information about enemies, but still, there should be a limit to it's range. It did make sense here as the library area was huge and open, but it shouldn't allow seeing through lots of walls, or a long distance. Also, the slow motion while using Instinct was kind of annoying.
Finally, the new design looks good. The minimap looked useless, and the weapon icon could be clearer, but otherwise fine. Only, I hope there's no regenerating health...
Now, just waiting for more videos. I want a stealth video of a level next. Here's hoping..

"I wondered how far could this go, before I could stop him. There was no way a imposter could remain that long in the gray darkness..."
*hears sudden movement, some weird sounds*
"Huh? Who was it?"
* hears some instruments in the distance, fading to the distant urban jungle*

Hah! Is he the same guy who does the voice, too? I'm guessing so. It's a bit strange hearing the guy speak with some form of London accent in Chicago... Then again, i'm from England and i lived in the States for 6 months.

Looking forward to seeing the HD version of this gameplay later today.

Edit - Speak of the devil. Doesn't seem any more HD than the one on Machinima though.

Edit: this demo seems rushed through. There were so many choices to be made but it seems that the player's interest was in specifically getting out of the building. This would be consistent with the title of the level but I'm left wondering with a bunch of "what if's".

Lots of different scenarios, especially in the stoners building.

There should be some sort of range, in the demo you could pretty much see all NPCs with Instinct many rooms away. Okay, Instinct is based on 47's senses, but let's be reasonable, he can't sense someone that far. Knowing there is an NPC so far away from you has little impact on your next moves. A good solution could be simply adding a blur/distortion to the NPCs the further they appear while using Instinct. It seems there’s no real graphical depth with Instinct vision as there is in the in-game environment.

And when it comes to the slow-mo whenever some sort of action is undertaken: 47 breaks an NPC's neck, slow-mo turns on. 47 uses Instinct, so-mo turns on. While it adds to the cinematic atmosphere, it can get annoying and a bit distracting. I think there's enough cinematic tension with the music, adding slow-mo may look good at first, but imagine playing through a level for the 10th time. Also, after taking a look at the Instinct meter, it's strange that probably the most 'powerful' ability, when 47 sees NPC's through walls, their paths and areas of interest uses very little Instinct, when simply having 47 walk by and hide his face in front of some police officers uses a lot. It's a bit disproportional.

The minimap looked useless...

I was interested to find it's not really a map at all. It's more of an NPC radar. Most of the NPC's on it you can see with your bare eyes anyway or when you use Instinct. Although I would prefer using it to know where NPCs are rather than turning on Instinct. But it depends on the situation.

I want a stealth video of a level next. Here's hoping..

I'm with you there. Let's see something at least related to that classic stealth gameplay that defined the series, a screenshot with 47 and his fibre wire perhaps?

It's not that he doesn't look realistic it's the voice he have, you didn't expect him to have a voice like that. But even if it aint realstic the whole situation gives you a surreal feeling. Wich I like.

Finally we saw some proper gameplay, ok here is my review :

*Graphics 9.5/10 : Details and Atmosphere are top notch.

*AI 9.5 : The AI is outstanding, you feel like they are friends for a while and you don't feel that they are digital characters but real persons.

*Music 8.5 : The music was good but it was a bit action-oriented, I liked how it links itself with what you are doing, like when he snapped the nick of the hostage and when he shoot the chain of the chandelier.

*User interference 5.5 : The game now looks very realistic but the user interference looks cartoony, the colors didn't match the graphics and the atmosphere, example : the bullets of the gun are represented by white dots on the screen, I think real bullets would be better.

*Gameplay 8 : 47 feels more agile, I can notice a lot of great tweaks and attention to detail. Instinct is better than what I was expecting but I don't like it at all! it doesn't fit the gameplay nor the atmosphere of the game. The takedowns are nice and brutal, the random weapons you can use are a great. Stealth felt like "action stealth" as in conviction, take cover then make a takedown. Regeneration health is not a welcomed addition! I want it erased!!.

*Voice acting for AI 8 : It was funny and real, but they cursed a lot I didn't like that.

*Voice acting for 47 0 : No one can replace Bateson !! This new guy is a batman wanna-be with a terrible voice.

Overall 8.5/10, What IOI did is over the top, Impressive. But they messed up on 47's voice and the stealth. I am pleased with what I saw, I hope the stealth is better than this since this is a linear demo.
