The Barcode society wants us to ask questions about the new feature "Instict" in preparation for a new video interview. This is our chance to find out more about it. so if you haven't been to the Barcode Society for this yet, and I can't imagine you haven't, here is a link...

If it can be disabled, then how?
What will it offer in a more action oriented situation?
Will differences in the game be noticeable after it is disabled?
If a guard is distracted by a dead body or things of that nature, what will happen to his guard route which is shown on Instinct?

Thank you.

-There will be lot of similarities with funny Batman detective vision and instinct mod or not, in Absolution?

Fans don't yet tried the subliminal.

Well instinct is a big part of Absolution, or so it seems like a big focus point at least.

So if we don't use it, how will it effect our (47's) ability in a mission?

I mean will it hinder you if you decide not to use it? I may be asking too much, but this is a question that I feel is important because we get too see how integral and how useful it will truly be.

Oh and 1 other connected question if I may.

How will it vary with difficulty?

Do you mean all portions of instict or just specific functions?

What I mean is i bet you can beat the game no problem without the xray, and point shoot, but i'll imagine there will be parts where it will be much more difficult to complete a level without blending.

^We don't know much about instinct so I cannot really answer that. :)

But I want to know if we can beat the whole game without ever using instinct and if we decide not to use it, what will we miss out?

So I guess I was referring to all of instinct's features. :)

I'll bet you Can beat the game without, but as you were first saying there will be some resistance, or it'll be more difficult. It'll be interesting to see.

Okay Buttcode society, here is the question:

Since instinct is an unusual and completely irrelevant feature to the Hitman franchise, how does the concept of lines of flame correlate with agent 47?

I'm sure I read/heard somewhere on here that with instinct disabled on purist mode that its still possible to blend in because lets face it, the ability to blend in isn't really an "instinct" as such but more common sense for any hitman.

NB. Sorry I can't reference where I read this, I just seem to remember being pleased that it was still possible to blend whilst being in purist mode.

Why isn't Bateson in Absolution? Oh wait, questions should be abot Instinct?
So, is this Instinct the reason Bateson's not in Absolution, if not that what is it?

This has been bothering me for quite some time now.

"Instinct" is being filled by doing "Hitman type" actions, like sneaking, staying hidden and taking enemies down silently. If this "talent" is a natural extension of agent 47's highly developed senses, why then does it need refilling? Shouldn't it be always available then, keeping up with that logic?

"Hitman type" actions, like sneaking, staying hidden and taking enemies down silently has been the core gameplay for the preceding 4 titles. I understand that "Instinct" replaces the map screen and certain of its features, but doesn't this "Instinct" clash with established patterns of this franchise? If I want to use Instinct, I'm supposed to do take down enemies in order for it to maximize. What if I don't want to take down enemies and only kill my target in an elaborate scheme? Is there any incentive for me to not feel shortchanged for playing Absolution canonically?

We haven't yet been told exactly what specific actions refill your Instinct meter. I don't imagine it's simply limited to 47 "taking down enemies" but a much wider spectrum of actions that I'm sure will fit into one's more canonical approach.

Always knew i didnt belong in this world. I wasnt

made for this. But Ill never forget - those who betrayed me, and

those who never failed my trust. Ill be carrying nothing from
Gontranno but this lesson: never trust anyone and rely on your

instincts. Forget the past. Ill never find peace here. So, Ill
seek justice for myself. Ill choose the truth I like.

Yes, I think upon getting access to a new/restricted area by sneaking or disguising past guards, you get an instinct reward. This can be seen in the RFYL walkthrough when the player gets a big instinct reward upon walking past the cops in the hallway and entering the elevator. Ideally, he would not have been given the same reward if he had shot his way through those cops. But that's a good question for this Q&A - what specific actions refill the meter.

You remembered correctly. In purist mode the player will have access to Blending and the Point shoot feature of instinct. It's in a couple of reviews that came out a while back. However the original poster was asking if he HAS to use those features to complete the level, or can you feasibly, not press the instinct button for blending and still be successful.

This has been bothering me for quite some time now.

I see your point, and agree to an extent, but we have to remember it's Video Game, so there has to be some sort of economy to the feature. I think of it like this. Kobe Bryant has talents but doesn't score 100 points every night. He has to get into groove or in a zone, so when he's doing actions that get him in that zone he's rewarded with better play. Kind of stretch, but still...

"Hitman type" actions, like sneaking, staying hidden and taking enemies down silently has been the core gameplay for the preceding 4 titles. I understand that "Instinct" replaces the map screen and certain of its features, but doesn't this "Instinct" clash with established patterns of this franchise? you listed above three things that can replenish this economy, taking down enemies isn't the only thing. Staying hidden, either in a cabinet, or most likely using a disguise to fool npc's will also result in rewarding instinct.
