like somebody else said, every hitman game's box art has been very simple and elegant, not exactly conveying the game's theme or storyline in any manner. silent assassin's box art didn't exactly convey that, neither did blood money's box art of 47 stretching out a fiber wire. I think sticking with the tradition of simplicity and elegance, this box art manages to do that. It also manages to be bright with its colors, it's not going to be lost on a rack, it will definitely stand out because of the red background. personally, I am more interested in seeing the back cover.

no offense, but I think that's a bad screenshot to choose for a box art. you replace all those trademark logos with a brazzers logo, and you're conveying an entirely different meaning, lol.

While you idiots argue about how the artwork isn't up to your standards, have you forgotten what past Hitman boxart looked like? The background was either plain white or plain black. I believe Absolution's art fits the trend, don't you think? Or is this another case of the fanbois nitpicking the game?

I liked the older one (the old red one they showed), it looks more like his appearance in BM.

But I still really like this new cover. It's not as subtle, but at least 47 isn't holding an AK while mowing down over the top terrorists 'cough' Call of Duty' cough'. I like this art though. Just 47 with his Silver Ballers, posing, which he has done in previous covers (Silent Assassin, Contracts).

Exactly.

And as I said before, Hitman's cover doesn't need to be epic or feature some heavy background like call of duty or Assassin's creed because Hitman is a much quieter and patient game. The background and the art cover need to basically sum up the game for you and a plain cover with 47 fits just right with the concept of the game. It all depends on 47 though and I feel that 47's body position reveals something very important here. He is IN COVER, WAITING for his prey while readying himself with the dual ballers in case you (the player) want to go all action. This basically sums up the game too because you have 2 choices, stealth or action and 47 can do both in that cover art. That and a plain background (which I explained earlier) make it fit nicely with the concept of the game.

Now IT DOESN'T MATTER if it's 2012 or 3000. Effects mean NOTHING if they don't have anything to do with the game. Sometimes a simpler approach is better and sometimes effects are needed and at other times going over board with effects may be needed aswell. My point is that the cover art doesn't need to be filled with effects to be great. It needs to go well with the concept of the game.
