Exactly.

And as I said before, Hitman's cover doesn't need to be epic or feature some heavy background like call of duty or Assassin's creed because Hitman is a much quieter and patient game. The background and the art cover need to basically sum up the game for you and a plain cover with 47 fits just right with the concept of the game. It all depends on 47 though and I feel that 47's body position reveals something very important here. He is IN COVER, WAITING for his prey while readying himself with the dual ballers in case you (the player) want to go all action. This basically sums up the game too because you have 2 choices, stealth or action and 47 can do both in that cover art. That and a plain background (which I explained earlier) make it fit nicely with the concept of the game.

Now IT DOESN'T MATTER if it's 2012 or 3000. Effects mean NOTHING if they don't have anything to do with the game. Sometimes a simpler approach is better and sometimes effects are needed and at other times going over board with effects may be needed aswell. My point is that the cover art doesn't need to be filled with effects to be great. It needs to go well with the concept of the game.

That 'Waiting in cover to strike' could've been conveyed better.
Besides it denotes 47 in the midst of 'Gunfight-ballet' as he turns around to mow down some fools. Notice the momentum in the pose...is right still not cocked fully....It seems awkward. I like dynamic poses...but that doesn't do it.

I like the red background and the logo btw...look really nice.

Would have preferred a white background and 47 looking less tense and more calm and collected.

Would it kill IO to get his guns right? If he is going to fire them soon, as evidenced by his fingers on the triggers, then he needs to have the hammers back. Otherwise there will be a disappointing click instead of a bang.

I think we agree that he looks like he's in cover and for me that's what matters. 47 using the environments to his advantage for a surprising assault. That pose can be interpreted in different ways because it covers both stealth and action at the same time.

I think it's great TBH.

LOL i pity those who signed on to get 725K so IO could shower us with an early intake of the boxart.
It would have been much better if they had announced the release date then for us to glare on this ambiguous thing.

Since its out, we have to live with it. Just hope IO truly know what they are doing? 1st batseon then the delay and confusing story (not the most perfect marketing strategy)

What makes Hitman boxart usually work imo is the cold mysteriousness surrounding the image.

47 is commonly in some assassinating position, but its general inconspicuousness sort of leaves some kind of subconscious wonder on who he might have his sights on.

That's probably due to the white/black backgrounds.


I think this cover contrasts the most against previous ones in that it just yells tension.

Surviving. Ominousness. Unsuspected developments. Aggression.



In that case it would rail hard against a lot of us, because it doesn't readily remind us of 47 - The Silent Assassin, but Stone Cold Steve Austin.

I like red. Red is my favorite color; The main color of my favorite football club is red; My penis is red and he rises when I see this red cover.

Meanwhile the main idea of such pose of 47 is the demonstration of his new gloves

So the main idea was to show off the gloves? I'm not sure about that. . I can relate to space_monkey. Since the background is gradient alittle bit, It gives an illusion of a 3d space. Because of 47's pose my eyes are automatically drawned to the background, the surroundings. "What is he hiding from, who is he hinding from" etc. And there's nothing there. Just red. White would have been better. Closer to the Silent Assasin one. White gives you an illusion of an open area while this red gradient version makes it claustrofobic and a feeling of unifnised.
