Thanks Drama, wasn't sure whether I should seperate it or not :)

Interesting to see that 47 pushes an officer over a railing at one point, and that he is in disguise much earlier in the level.

Yeah, that level has grown a lot in the last months. I picked it up about a week ago and was completely blown away with some of the additions they've made. Lots of room to play around with things.

Quite clearly this clip shows the variety of play styles that Absolution offers. We've got everything from silently knocking out NPCs with a syringe, dragging their bodies and hiding them in a closet to machine gunning and explosions. One thing which has very gladly caught my eye is the focus on improvisation and using the environment to the best of your abilities, Absolution seems to improve a lot on that compared to it's predecessors based on what we've seen.

The team's been working real hard on just those things so I'm really glad you're picking up on that. Choice is central to this game and how you feel like approaching taking out an enemy, solving the 'puzzles' in a level, going about a hit, everything is built around choice, improvisation and replayability.

What the hell is 47 doing at 00:32? Pretending to surrender?

Yup, fake surrender is a cool addition.

Good catch. Lovely detail.

Great trailer once again. The graphics are amazing and this is just console footage. I really hope the PC version won't be a mere port.

So, I saw the list of stuff that's being put in the PC version in terms of adding sexy features to make it really shine - it will definitely look outstanding.

BTW, as an artist I have to complement those graphics. They're outstanding. Congratulations on that IO. Very deserving in my book and I am no easy one to please on details ;).

Thanks :)

So, "Run for yor life" level has been edited and now it's bigger ? Great news!... The first time I saw it in the gameplay, I thought It would be very difficult to pass through the level silently in another way, I think it was very surrounded by cops. Nothing more to add to the comments before, the stuff in the video is purely awesome, hype 100% level!

Regards! ;) Keep up the good work!

Pd: When we'll see some gameplay of the fire wire ? ;)
Pd2: I'm replaying the Hitman saga, and I don't remember that "Hidden Valley" was so difficult to achieve with the SA rating... damn truck bug!

You mean when 47 took down the first officer with the SSSHHHHH! choke hold you didn't think to yourself 47 could take that disguise?

Next trailer... Tools of the trade. It's teased at the end.

But will the controls be as good as before? I couldn't care less about sexy visual features if the controls aren't on par with the console version. On the other hand it's always nice to get a good-looking game if it's enjoyable to play. Can you say anything about system requirements on PC? Is Windows XP supported? If it isn't, it might be the time to upgrade my computer to be able to play Hitman: Absolution, Max Payne 3 (with better graphics than with my currect setup), Just Cause 2 and maybe Battlefield 3 at the very least. Or I could just buy it for the Xbox. But I'd rather play on the PC.

When you kill for money, there are no rules.

The Small fixes thread. IOI employees and Hitman developers, please take a look at the thread. At the moment there are about 80 small or smallish things that the fans would like to see improved. Many would improve gameplay and shouldn't be too difficult to fix before Absolution is released.

Yes and no ;) I could imagine that 47 could pick up the cop's suit, but I was refeiring to it (the level) was a little scripted to achive it in another way, I didn't see any other entrances, paths, etc...

People like me wanna know if we'll need a high-end Pc to run the game in a smooth way... or if the game will be well optimised ;) I have a Quad Core CPU, 4gbs RAM and a GTX 560.

Regards!

Nice! I feel like I'm back in 2003, when I got so excited about getting Hitman 2 that I obsessively watched and rewatched every H2 video on IGN.

As a stealth-action game, it looks good. The library level looks much improved from the original demo.

But there's still no real evidence of sandbox level design (as we've come to understand it in previous Hitman games) in this video, so I don't know what some of the people in this thread are talking about when they say that the 3-second clips of Hope are somehow proof that there is. All I saw was shootouts, brutal takedowns, and exploding gas cans in the scenes from Hope.

Thing is, I'm not really sure how one would go about *showing* evidence of Hitman-style level design in a video other than with several (at least 3-4) walkthroughs of the same level. I'm actually very curious to know what you have in mind as the thing you'd like to see in a video to satisfy this concern for you. I'm asking as a legit question, not a rhetorical one - what do you want them to show that will say "sandbox level design" for you?

I think what people are taking comfort from in this vid is the open area nature and size of what we can see in Hope. As Watson, Shobhit and others have said, these two concepts ("sandbox" and "open areas") are not synonymous, but I can understand why people are prone to equating one with the other. For my part, I am satisfied from 1) what we've seen of the one checkpoint of Rosewood; 2) what we've seen and heard about RFYL; 3) what we've seen and heard about Hope; and 4) what we've heard about the game in general that there will be more than one path through every level and more than one solution to every obstacle

Sandbox=assasination mission aka. Blood Money mission. I think that's what most people mean with sandbox. A mission where you can stand and watch a wall or a fontain for hours without any pressure. I think most people are also picturing sandbox with a level that contains an area of some sort, mansion, biker club, hotel and so an and you are completly free to do what you want and the world is living of it's own without any fabricated scripted moments. Atleast that's a sandbox for me.

Did you have proof of the existence of sandbox level during the marketing campaign of Blood Money? It was exactly the same type of trailers.

I think we can all lose our concerns about it not being sandbox now. It looked pretty sandbox to me from the trailer, but I'm guessing some missions will be semi-linear (which is fine by me as long as most are sandbox)

I understand the difficulties of conveying the "sandbox" qualities of a Hitman level to a passive audience. I'm not entirely sure what it would take to fully convince me and other doubters that the new game has the elements of a sandbox experience as we've come to expect, but I think a single complete walkthrough through a stage internally deemed by IO to be a sandbox-based level would be a good start. I don't think multiple playthroughs would be necessary. You certainly wouldn't need to watch 3-4 walkthroughs of one of Blood Money's larger stages to notice that there are numerous other paths and options available: the stages are so well-designed and open-ended, it's immediately obvious that you're not just being funneled from Point A to Point B like in most action games.
