Hello everyone,

First of all, these are my PC specifications:
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450
Processor: AMD Phenom™ II X4 840 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 3326MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium

I recently bought all three Hitman games ( all seperately & factory sealed; God I love Amazon xD ) but anyway I was able to finish both Silent Assassin & Blood Money without any problems on highest settings. Problems started when I installed Contracts. I can't navigate through main menu because it's too laggy ( mouse arrow is teleporting ). No matter what settings I will put ( very high or very low ) it's still unplayable because of the lagging.
Is it something wrong with my PC or Hitman Contracts don't want to work on PCs properly? It's pretty weird for me as I could run Blood Money on highest settings without problems ( not mentioning that I can run games like The Witcher 2 or Battlefield 3 on Ultra settings without problems ).

If anyone can help, I will be very grateful as Hitman Contracts is the best one for me .
PS. I tried Windows XP compatibility and putting OpenGL in configuration file, both without any improvements :(.
Anyone can help? Please :(.

Have you tried reinstalling? and why did you open two threads for the same thing?

I've made to threads because I realized after that this section of forum will be better for this kind of problem.
It should be obvious that I re-installed the game, even few times, still with no luck. I read that people had problems with smoothness of the game back in 2004 when it was released, but my PC is a powerful machine capable of running newest games. Still it's only this Hitman game that I have problems with.
It shouldn't take place when I can run more advanced graphically Blood Money without any problems.

Anyone can help with something less obvious than re-installing the game?

Come on, I'm sure there was at least one person in here who had similar kind of problem with Contracts.
Can anyone help me on enjoying this great title by Eidos :D?
Here's my DxDiag file, it might help ;): http://www.sendspace.com/file/vtg9dh

Why no one is answering? I didn't do nothing wrong, just pointed out to Freidmann Kaiser that it's obvious that I re-installed the game.
Do these forums aren't made for helping someone if he has problem with Hitman series game?

Can please, someone look at this problem and help me?

Been ages, but.. I seem to recall Contracts had some kind of freaky issue with Post Processing. I'd start by making sure you patch the game to whatever the most recent version was... Disable Post Processing, make sure your video drivers are up to date too. If you don't go get those yourself, windows is often not smart enough to know you need them, and trying to run games on vendor provided (came with the card) drivers is usually bad.

If none of this solves your problem, the next thing to try would be to set *everything* in your options as low as they can get. Turn all enhancement options off, etc. Both video and sound. See if it runs well.

If so, enable things and set your quality back up one step at a time. Helps a lot knowing exactly what's causing the problem.

Also, it should go without saying, but having lots of stuff running in the background (like aggressive virus scanners) can really kill performance.

That's about all I can think of right now. Try anything I listed that you haven't tried already and see what happens.

For the first install, first thing I did was to apply the patch. Post processing seems to be the biggest problem, but I think you agree with me that Hitman Contracts right now isn't a big resources eater. I mean, I can run more powerful games without problem. With my machine it shoudn't be a problem to run it normally. Weird that even on such PC specs as I have, this game have framerate drops even on the lowest possible settings. Heck, even Silent Assassin is working great on Vista even though it's older and it doesn't differ much graphically from Contracts, from what I could see.

It seems that I'll have to left this game behind because of it's very bad PC port ( and performance ) and just wait for the Hitman HD Collection. Hopefully it will be released also on PCs and than it will most likely run like it should be running ;).
Thanks for your help Kitty, as you were the only person who was capable of helping me ;).

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but it's been a long time and I don't really remember exactly what the deal was.

It seems like there was some glitch with the way post processing was done, where it worked fine on some systems, but horrible on others (even if they were well above recommended specs). I remember there were some tricks to get things working pretty good, but I just can't really remember what they were.

You might want to spend some time digging back through the old threads about it from dates when the game was released. Might find several ideas in there which *could* be helpful.

In any case, good luck with it. If I remember anything that may help, I'll send it along.

Thank you very much for your time spent on answering me. I really appreciate that ;).

Problem has been resolved :D. I installed the game once again but this time along with DirectX uptdate added to the game. It works without any slowdowns and with everything on max.
I didn't installed it earlier 'cause I thought that I don't need to as I have Dx11.

Anyways thanks again Kitty ;D!
