Absolution [20]
I would say I generally love Absolution. It was the first hitman game I played so I thankfully played it with no expectations/preconceived notions of what hitman should be and so I feel like I judged it at its own worth.
That being said, obviously playing it now with hindsight some of the flaws are more obvious in some places. And with missions that always sort of felt bad it’s become easier to spot and explain why I think they are
Overall I’d say Absolution has a sprinkling of good missions, a lot of decent missions, and a handful of bad missions
With this 4 day weekend starting tomorrow I might try and squeeze in a full playthrough to really solidify my thoughts on each level tho
As for Operation Sledgehammer. It’s just a very uninteresting slog, waiting for people’s backs to be turned and rolling from one piece of cover to the next. There’s almost no variety to all its pieces and I never really replay it

Absolution [21]
Run for your life is one of the few levels when Absolution’s formula actually works.Escaping from a burning hotel, jumping over rooftops, being chased by the police all over the city, sneaking through the library, escaping unnoticed from a helicopter and finally avoiding the cops while you are waiting for the train in the crowd make the atmosphere in this level so special.
I remember you said in the topic about ranking the installments that you were sad to see Absolution being ranked so low.I usually try to be a positive person, but if I had to be honest,75% of the game is just (trying not to hurt your feelings) not of…really good quality to say the least.
So,I would be really interested to hear some more detailed opinions about why you like this game so much, how you would compare it to the older installments and what missions you like because I don’t think I’ve ever heard you discuss a lot about this(except saying this was your first hitman game).
Yeah it’s a 4 day weekend in the UK starting tomorrow so I think I’m going to put some time aside to try and replay most of Absolution. Hopefully then I can articulate my thoughts on it in a more meaningful way
Eh, I don’t begrudge you that, I understand and sympathise with a lot of the issues people have with Abs Your opinion is as valid as mine. It’s just different strokes for different folks really
