Yes I miss live music tremendously because that’s my industry - I worked for Daughters during that tour. The Mrs Piss album is only 18 minutes long but it slays, give it a spin

that has to be really rough at the moment. i’ve been doing the uk and eu live circuit for literally decades, but never been in a position (or had the desire) to make it my sole income. you got other work at the moment…?
I’m a sound engineer. I’m working one or two livestreamed shows a week at one my house venues at the moment - The only other work I’ve got at the moment is freelance music writing. That’s keeping a roof over my head but not much more.
I remember you linking one of your bands on the old forum I think - IIRC it had slight Shellac vibes

edit: hold the phone. you were engineering in ramsgate for daughters? i think my mate - embarrassingly - kept asking you questions while you were working (he was plastered) and you told him to politely naff off 
Haha! Nah I wasn’t on the whole tour. I just I worked in house in one of the other venues during that tour and again for the band a festival over the summer. But it definitely would have been a very polite “naff off” because their sound engineer is one of the nicest guys i’ve met in the biz

ah, okay. yeah, he was very cool about it considering how drunk he was. nice sound engineers, at least on my lowly level, are a rare breed too.
Sound engineers and lampies on the mid-level rung of this industry are really nice in my experience. I’ve only met a few with big egos over the years i’ve been doing this

Yeah I’ve thought about you quite a bit this year with your industry being hit so hard. Glad to hear you’re staying positive and at least have something going on, although it’s obviously no compensation for doing the proper job that I know you love so much.
We can only hope’ 21 will be better, although I think it’s still going to be a while yet. Maybe by the end of the year we’ll start seeing some shoots of recovery. Fingers crossed.
Keep your head up mate, I know you’ll be back to it before too long.
