007 "First Light" News Thread

Three weeks away from release people.

Tbh I expected this game would be like Absolution since the initial reveal trailer, and that’s fine as Absolution wasn’t a bad game, just not a good Hitman game. For bond however the formula might be more appropriate.

Oh, did they actually confirm this number on the stream?

Probably the most important information from the stream! Now how many of those will be Swiss cheese sandboxes?…

There will be no swiss cheese sandbox levels like WOA, it surely is much more like Absolution with some parts that have a bit of freedom how to do things and other parts of pure action.

IO goes full cycle, WOA is a proper Hitman game that learned from Absolution, 007 will be a proper Absolution game that learned from WOA.

Absolutely punching the air in validation that Absolution never was, is, nor will be a Hitman game.

It is. James Bond will just do it better. Like WoA did open world sandbox assassination better than… everyone.

Yeah this is how I feel too. I’m pretty sure WOA retconned it anyway.

IIRC I think ioi was trying to win the Bond license even all the way back then.

007’s and Hitman’s Eula’s ban mods and private server connections, but 007 seems more aggressive about them and mentions anti-cheat and bans. @IOI_Artjoms will action be taken about mods in First Light? (tried to ask in the stream but it was a lil busy! :pink_heart:)

I asked again and Arti didn’t know about 007, but he says there were talks about showing mods in Hitman.

Buy 007 on EGS, get wheels for Rocket League and Fortnite.
Epic games have been doing this for ages with so many games now, instead of buying exclusivity like with H3. I think it is pretty cringey but only really effects Fortnite/RR fans and not us.

Fixup doesn’t embed on the forum sadly but uh yeah even as one of the few Fortnite players here this is just :sob:

Few other examples from before and after they started milking this concept loads more are

Among Us

Alan Wake

Dumb Ways to Die

Hogwarts Legacy

Bloons TD6

I’ve had a gold Aston Martin DB5 in Fortnite for a couple weeks and ran into the problem of not having the gold wheels and this is what I’m met with :broken_heart:

TIL the fellow dressed up as a moose during hunting season is a Fortnite back bling

Realising I’m getting a little off-topic, so I’ll also just add that I’ve noticed 2L branded Coke bottles too, for weeks I was just seeing the multipack cans

Not familiar with this channel, but they have a video interviewing staff at IOI Brighton: Veronique Lallier (Chief Development Officer), Martin Emborg (Narrative & Cinematic Director) and Tom Marcham (Senior Combat Designer):

A demo or time limited trial would be better than this piece of paper.

ā€œSSD Requiredā€? I’ve never heard of a game requiring a specific type of hard drive before. I’m good either way and should be able to run this without a problem, but it’s an odd requirement. I’m absolutely not saying that solid state drives aren’t the better tech and obviously access/load times will be much better than on a ā€˜normal’ Hard Disk, but they say it’s required (not recommended…required).

Quite a few games in the last two (three?) years or so have had SSDs as a requirement actually.
