I still don’t understand why OP is backing this “IO should squeeze the lemon til its dry” approach.
The ideas presented for this aren’t sufficient and the asking price presented in this hypothetical situation is still a high bar when you consider charging a premium on content initially released for free.
The purchase isn’t justifiable because “you get reskins that were locked away, or permanent access to elusive targets”.
Charging $25 for stuff that should be Quality of Life improvements actively segregates the playerbase. This has been a large point of contention when it comes to the playerbase at large given IO’s practices of making confusing purchasing structures just to simply play the games main locations.
There’s a reason why premium ETA Cosmetic Packs have been the norm for this game and why Upgrade Packs and the Controversial Sapienza have since been removed from the store after community backlash.
Lastly and most importantly, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. HITMAN is a live service title where content is being rotated in and out, in rare instances removed but for justifiable reasons that don’t need to be retreaded.
Time Limited Unlocks til this day exist and there’s nothing we can do about it since they’ve doubled down on Twitch and TikTok adjacent releases to drive community engagement with Streamers within the community.
Yes you may get your slightly darker winter suit with pin and you will be happy for a very fleeting moment of time. But then somewhere else someone missed out on the Purple Coin or Rubber Ducks released on Twitch.
HITMAN WOA is deep-rooted into the live-service content structure, it’s been like this since 2016 and it has no signs of stopping. The HITMAN development team will release what they want, when they want. Samir can give them ideas on future challenge unlocks, but that doesn’t guarantee they will ever be realized. We’ve been waiting for the console exclusive suits for years now and still have yet to see them.
Nothing is guaranteed especially in a live service game.
