Ancestral Pistol & Splitter SMG bugs (Now Fixed)

Believe this is to do with the new easter egg they added.

For PC players I think this has also been fixed in the Community Patch.

I was about to point out the issue, but I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing it. Hope they will fix it soon.

It is, but they were not used in the easter-egg at all. It must have been prototyping. :purple_heart:

It’s been the topic of conversation on the forum for the last week to be fair, so I decided to the pin this thread so it gets as much attention as possible.

It’s really frustrating but I’m hoping IOI have a fix out for it soon :slightly_smiling_face:

Does this bug affect all other Ancestral items? Edit: The mod I’m using sneakily changes weapon/item names. ( ( ( :clap: ) ) ) :smiling_face_with_horns:

Because you can add the Krugermeier variant, so might as well check the others.

Ancestral Sniper is OK…

The Kruger is the ancestral pistol.

Afaik it’s just that and the splitter smg. For whatever reason, These 2 files basically just got deleted.

The bug only seems to be impacting the Ancestral Pistol, unless anyone else can tell be differently?

I am using a mod that changes the names of some of the items. For instance: ā€œAncestral Pistolā€ is renamed to ā€œKrugermeier 2-2 Ancestralā€. :confused:

I knew it changed the names of a number of things, I now realize this was one of them.

Understandable. I use that mod too (or similar) and often forget what things are actually called :sweat_smile:

That’s awesome, and as a console-only player I feel jealous.

Leave it to the unpaid fans and modders to fix such a huge gamebreaking issue before the multimillion company does…

There are pros and cons to PC and console - modding is one of PC’s best pros, IMO :]

I hope IO gets a fix out to you all soon, too! And hopefully a bit sooner than the next regular patch, like they did with the Splitter bugs.

Right now, everyone who doesn’t or can’t use UCP effectively has an RNG-powered time bomb ticking in their Freelancer mode. Eventually, you will be rewarded one of these items (with double chances if you paid for a DLC!) and if I understand correctly, after that point your Freelancer will be basically unplayable until the weapons are fixed… not the best, to say the least!

(and just in case you’re wondering - I think the consistency of consoles are their best pro - every copy of a console is the same, and if one can run it, all of them can… unless something has gone very weird!)

It feels really wrong to have to use a community patch for such a severe issue. Should have been hotfixed by IOI as soon as it was discovered.

This + Race Marshall’s bugged disguise should be fixed via hotfix ASAP. It’s not only annoying, but also kinda embarrassing to let these things through.

I helped with a bit of restructure of this thread, so I know what the title is (:wink:), but I was just replying when someone asked if the bug was impacting other Ancestral weapons and to my knowledge it wasn’t (hence the thread title), so I was just asking people to clarify if other weapons were being impacted on different platforms that I wasn’t aware of :slightly_smiling_face:

I know the Splitter SMG is bugged, but this was just around the Ancestral weapons :slightly_smiling_face:

Here’s a small question - if you have these items in your Freelancer Safehouse inventory before this patch broke these weapons, what happens to your inventory? Do they just get wiped and the game acts as if you don’t have them? Or are they just invisible on the wall counted as collected?

If not, I’ll have to defer playing anymore Freelancer until this gets fixed…which should be a number 1 priority right now for IOI!
