APEX LEGENDS penalizes Cheaters' Hardware

#1

Respawn recently launched an anti-cheat feature for its popular battle royale shooter APEX LEGENDS that appears to ban Hardware/MAC Addresses instead of just accounts or IP Addresses.

Depending on how much hardware information APEX LEGENDS gathers the ban could include vast unique ID’s and serials retained on the cheater’s machine, Effectively forcing banned players who plan to repent (or repeat) to only be able to do so after buying new hardware as making a new account or IP spoofing/IP replacement is not enough to get you back in the game.

wow, i’d like to see this become a tool universally for all types of anti-ban evasion

Same, it’s a Practices and mentality that should die out completely. I hope that Ubisoft adds it into R6 down the road.

Hopefully someone doesn’t like the same games when buying a used PC when said PC was owned by one of these cheaters. :hushed:

It’s rather strange that it took so long for someone to use this kind of cheat prevention.
But I like it, very much so.
