CHONGQING, China (Mission #4) - Location Discussion

Hush just sounds like an evil genius who picks up homeless people and tortu- i mean experiments on them

I’m interested in how dynamic the fire mechanic might be. How far could the server-room fire spread?

I was stuck there for a while (I’m good at games I swear), but I don’t think I noticed it spread. Maybe one you reach a higher tier it expands, but I didn’t turn around to see if it grew at that point.

Just watched an opening scene for the mission. And found one refence(?)

Hush was a character in Escape Plan movies portrayed by 50 Cent. He was also something like a computer guru

I was thinking more of the Batman villain.

Anyone know if the hacking the core part is skippable after first playthrough?. According to one of the reviews it is, but when I played my second time it wasn’t. If it’s not skippable, then that’s pretty bad, especially considering it requires both targets be killed first, so it’s not just a static objective, but one that has to be done last.

There were some connection issues yesterday, so I figure maybe my case has something to do with that, and someone else has another experience.

Edit: Can confirm that this was a glitch, probably due to yesterdays problems. The hacking is now optional for me.

Easily one of the best optional moments in the reboot trilogy.

Wait how did you trigger this?

Cyberpunk 2077? No, thanks.

Watch Dogs: Legion? No, thanks.

The only cyberpunk game I need is Hitman III Chongqing.

how is it cyberpunk?

It’s not, I was making a joke.

However, the high technology areas, the heavy and constant surveillance, the neon lights and Hush manipulating poor people into his twisted experiments all give a cyberpunk vibe.

There is a blend in spot where Agent 47 pulls out an umbrella and speaks to the woman

Hm. A bit disappointed that if you do not resist Hush’s mind control as a patient, 47 would resist on his own, leading to the same outcome.

A brilliant mission, it might have less kill opportunities than I’d wish for but I’m not certain yet. At least the ones I’ve seen are unique and fun to pull off. The targets are interesting and very cyberpunk-like lookswise. I just wished Royce had a completely unique voice, not that Graves/Vetrova-one we’ve heard a lot. I thought the map would be wider but it works just great this way when the facility is so well designed. Not that the other areas weren’t.
This is surprisingly easy to SA/SO too, you just need to get to the crashed drone and snipe the others, then blow up your targets with the gas cylinder when they meet. Might be possible to do a sniper assassin run at the same time if the bodies don’t get found. I’m glad hacking to core is optional after the first run.

I spent a good while on this mission, probably the longest out of all the hitman 3 missions, to eliminate Royce, I used a code to open a secret hatch between one of the first locked buildings you come across and the abandoned apartment block, I then went down the ladder and through the vents, knocked out one of the people in the ICA base and stole his outfit. Hid his body and made my way to Royces office. Ran inside and hid in a vent, narrowly avoiding detection by a guard, hid in a vent and waited for Royce. She came in with her guard and frosted the window to begin a video call with Hush, I threw a screwdriver to distract her personal guard and then knocked him out, left him on the floor until I shot Royce just as her call with Hush ended. Hid both of the bodies in a container in the office and stole the guards outfit. Made my way back to my original point of entry, and re-equipped the guard suit I was wearing when I entered. (forgot to mention that) made my way out, and entered the apartment block, grabbed a crowbar and broke open a gate leading to some stairs, entered an area restricted to my disguise, sneaked past some guards and knocked out a doctor, hid the body and took his outfit. Then I climbed up a pole leading to the floor above and climbed in a window. Walked to some stairs and went to the next floor up. Knocked out the perfect subject, hid the body and took his outfit. Did the whole brain control thing with Hush, and when he was taking a rest, I stealthily knocked everyone else unconious, using various distractions. Then Hush stood up and started walking towards the stairs, threw a soda can to distract him, and then shot him. His all the bodies but I didn’t have enough room for Hush’s personal guard so I hid him beside the tanto. Went back down to the ica base, using the same entry. Re-equipped the guard outfit, and made my way to the data. Got in easily enough and started the hack. After the whole hacking scene, I was very nervous making my way around, if I was found I’d have to return to the first point that I left the base, because that was when I had used my only save. Luckily I made my way through a lot of vents and with some quick and nicely timed moves, made my way out. Returned to 47’s signature suit because I passed it on my way to the exfil, and made my way out. Silent Assassin.

Overall a pretty fun and challenging mission. There is a lot of places to explore in the map and I’m looking forward to getting back at it and having some fun around the map. The visuals on the map are also very nice, especially with the neon lights scattered throughout.

Hey, is Lee Hong and company a regular part of the mission? I didn’t get Deluxe but I’d be happy enough to see them on the map or even just have them available in Contracts mode.

No they are special NPCs only added during the escalation

47 disguises himself as a homeless person and tries to get recruited to the experiments.

Guard: “Your clothes stench so bad. When have you changed them the last time?”
47: “I change my clothes all the time.”
Guard: “Yeah, I bet you do!”

I love these little jokes.
