ELUSIVE TARGET #18: THE SERIAL KILLER (Year 5: Jan 16 - feb 8 2026)

Murillo is significantly more annoying as his gameplay is random each restart. It’s a cool gimmick that gets old really REALLY quickly.

At least with Gorski you can actually follow him about and make a plan, even if the kill methods are still fairly limited. Boring game design is not worse than bad game design, which is what Murillo suffers from. He is even more limited in kill methods due to his random spawns, and some are even specific to certain spawns (like sedating him when he goes for a smoke in the shanty town).

It’s just a worse contract.

Oh, yeah. I very easily took him out No Loadout SA SONKO during my Year 3 runs where I did every ET that way. I could have sworn I’d uploaded video of that, but it’s not even in my meager YouTube account so I must not have.

Basically, propane throw + car battery throw from cover = easy peasy.

I haven’t had any trouble with that method. With the timing of the route I use she never comes around, and even if she did I’m pretty sure the blending-in to serve keeps her from noticing 47.

My route is this. Default start, no loadout needed.

  1. Hop West’s back fence and climb in the bathroom window for the server disguise there. Upstairs to get the key, then down into the basement to get lethal poison.
  2. Back to the streets and around to the front of the Wilson property (not getting too near the muffin stand worker on the way), then down the path to start serving.
  3. Invite the target to eat poisoned fries when he comes around, and be gone towards an exit by the time he finishes eating and dies.

I really wish you could trick the target into trying to make 47 his next victim, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be an option.

Yeah I mean it’s not hard, it’s just boring. Correct, blending in will make the hostess ignore you. Running around the party though, you need to recall she’s there. It’s not a big deal, it’s just… boring.

In the arcade The Bombastic requires an explosion kill, so that would be a good one to try it on.

When I did that one, propane tank in front of the fridge was what I wound up going with. He pauses there with other NPCs probably not very near by.

Since I didn’t have footage from last year, I did it again this year.
No Loadout SA SONKO… zzzzzzz…

More interestingly, there was a bug upon completion where the XP meter didn’t show or go up, and my level was noted as zero even though it’s… not. You can see this very briefly at the end of my video, but I cut off the recording pretty quickly.

I did this over the weekend. Took a sniper rifle up to the 2nd floor of the house next door and shot him through the window. It wasn’t Silent Assassin, the body was absolutely found, and I think my score may have been only 2-3 stars, but it’s done.

The 0 xp bug happens to me when I play a mission in the campaign and leave without completing it and then play a contract in the same location, or vice versa. Perhaps you were playing on Whittleton Creek before doing the elusive target?

Good observation, thanks. I was probably playing the ET a couple days before playing it again for the kill.

Didn’t feel like coming up with a new route, so just remade my first run - better video, done smoother, no loadout and included that dialogue with The Censor. The killing method itself is perfect IMO, can’t think of anything better.

Quick reminder that this guy is live right now.

There’s a whole bunch live right now, but only The Censor shows up on the Live screen. The galore started yesterday. You can find them through the Career tab and then select Elusive Targets.

I assume its been setup that way because this is the first (and likely only) time “The Serial Killer - Year 5” is going live so people don’t miss it. They seemingly forgot to put it on a roadmap last year.

At least they were announcing it on social:

With ”the serial killer” joining the Galore lineup, Switch2 users can now nearly complete all fifth-year Elusive Targets.
I’ve finally cleared almost all of them too, with only “the Undying” and “the Drop” remaining unplayed.
Since “The Undying” was re-released once, the only Elusive Target content Switch 2 users couldn’t play for free in Year 5 is “The Drop.”
There must be a reason they’re not rereleasing the celebrities, but if that’s the case, personally, I would have preferred ”the Drop” to appear at the end of the fifth year instead of the current ”the Splitter”.

Yknow i really think that they should either rename this Serial Killer Year 6 or bring out the year 6 version sometime in october or summer because i think having to wait for galore to play the only whittleton ET and therefore having no alternate opportunities due to it only getting played during galore instead of merely repeated during galore so not AND being the only way to get the suit it means you legit get once a year to get that suit

If you complete The Censor (success or fail) and have at least one other uncompleted, does one of the others show up on the Live screen? That’s how it has worked in the past when multiple are active.

For the first time ever, I actually bothered to do this with a Silent Assassin rating. I’d already earned the reward for it but the points were nice!

1 durian , I chose the construction spot to begin.

as I saw target entering the house I bumped into him then durian, got 1 other and target wound up using upstairs bathroom, easy drown.

2 have lethal poison stashed by park bench muffin guy.

Begin as a Gardner near west house, free lethal in basement if you have none stashed. Ring door bell to distract Helen, use garage to get to kitchen subue cook outfit. Drag to garage hide in crate. Note have the garage open when you ring doorbell and close after you enter the cop and mole guy might see you dump muffin guy in crate

then as a muffin man, get the lethal poison stashed, then head to party. Target drinks a glass but 2 npc enforcement see muffin disguise. Use a coin to distract but be careful the npc saw me so adjust your angle and don’t worry if others see as long as the npc turn you good to poison quick and get out of eye line

Easy either way, I prefer durian method
