IMO a good way to pull it off consistently is to drop the gun behind the target (assuming they’re the only one who can see it) then bump them to get them to see it, or to distract them to where the gun is (also assuming they’re the only one who can investigate the distraction). Then you just pick up the gun when they start turning their back to you to call a guard and it will usually work (I haven’t used it on either of the 2 ETs you’re having trouble with, but there’s no reason their AI would work differently than any other civilian NPC).
I tried to find something unique for a SASO no-loadout no-KO run, but I wound up doing basically the same thing everyone does for that challenge. Oh well. Neither of the Sgàil non-celebrity ETs seem to have very much option for this challenge.
As part of the trying, I did some experimenting in the Arcade and confirmed that, like The Constant and the killswitch dialog, you don’t even get the option to talk to Chen while trespassing. So even if you could dodge all the watching NPCs, you still couldn’t make him move on SASO.
Also did a bunch of Arcade runs (using The Codicies trying to find a good challenge run for The Appraiser) with the super-easy SA strategy: Start in the warehouse with a durian, run over and poison him, drown him in the bathroom, exit via warehouse.
Yeah, I don’t know why I put that. Must have been on autopilot. Fixed it, thanks for pointing it out to me.
Easy SASO if you begin as a waiter behind the bar, equip a durian, coin.
As you spawn, go straight out the main gate, go left to the pole climb up and shoot the camera recorder, then go past security and through the door where the waiter is chatting with the girl, throw a coin to distract while you open the door and make your way to the museum. target will be waiting , when he gets to the corner, drop the durian. Follow to bathroom and drown and leave, even if guard spots body its accidental. Take any exit you want.
How is that suit only?
Don’t change out of the waiter outfit. “Suit” in this context meant any suit you start in.
you don’t change your starting disquise
Yet, “Suit” actually means any of the default suits you can choose from in the planning phase. E.g. not a blending-in start in a non trespassing disguise. wtheck people? ![]()
Speaking purely on technicality here.
Technically a disguise is not a suit though. If a contract specifies a target has to be killed in suit, using any disguise for that kill will fail that condition. Only a suit you start with, or some that you can find in levels (like the pirate in Ambrose or the wetsuit in Mendoza) can fulfill that condition.
Speaking purely on technicality, that Stowaway waiter run would be categorized as “no disguise change” if it was a contract, but it would only be a suit only run if you used a suit start instead of the waiter one :x
I was rewatching the target briefing video for the first time in at least four years for the fun of it before I did my usual method, and realised a unique opportunity they could have had for this ET.
They mention that the target is an investigative journalist currently working on an expose on the Ark Society and secret societies, so if there was an in game option to be able to prove who he was, expose his identity and tell Sophia/Zoe/any high ranking Ark Society member, they’d ‘take care of him’ and it would be a cool way to be able to eliminate your target. If this target made its way into the game in this current lifecycle, I could easily see that being a possibility but considering proxy kills weren’t nearly as popular or utilised back in the H2 era, I see why it didn’t at the time.
As usual, custodian, propane tank and breaching charge. dropped both by the target, explode him, grab the recorder and ran to the exit. Less than a minute.
There’s an entire set of mission stories in Mumbai where you use The Kashmirian to sequentially proxy-kill Dawood and Shah.
They did do them, it just didn’t happen very often. I’m sure there are more H2 examples.
Are there really that many examples in 3?
All I can think of is Vincente killing Le Chiffre in The Banker, Crest being killed by Akka in Ambrose Island, and Don Yates being killed by his wife (as a call-back to Jordan being able to do the same to Ken Morgan), and Alexa killing herself in Death in the Family. I don’t think I can name any other examples off the top of my head.
Would giving the remote explosive detonator to Robert Knox on the overpass, blowing up Sierra Knox, count as a proxy kill? Given Robert’s assumption it was placed on Moses Lee’s car
The daughter-in-law - I forget her name - in Dartmoor can poison Alexa. And one of the workers unintentionally can fry Imogen. And one of the guards executed Vidal if she’s still alive by the time of the Herald meeting.
The first is Emma that poison alexa the other guard I believe if you fire him he jumps off and kills himself
You can also look at the “Silent Assassin, Suit Only” in-game challenges: they don’t pop if you start in a disguise.
Even easier, start as a custodian in the warehouse and you just have to cross the alley to get to the gallery, no messing around. If you don’t waste time, Chen will be by the katana.
Not a target though. Talking solely about targets being killed by other NPCs.
I think it’s more to do with the fact that every new ET since The Splitter has an option to kill the main target via proxy
Well, then it would be called starting disguise only. But it’s called suit only.
