No matter how many times I play this one, it never stops being odd that the mission opens with zero dialogue from Diana. I can’t imagine that it was intentional, since they’ve never done it anywhere else…
If anyone cares, I blew up a duck nearby so he went into lockdown and ran straight into an electrified puddle. Done in about 32 seconds. NEXT!
I’m still irked at the fact that this guy (haha, or this game) only does one broadcast of his speech. Any time after that he’ll come on for a fraction of a second. Why is this a big deal? So you can blow him up remotely while watching it in the cantina or wherever.
Funny how in the Freelancer Variations mod where he’s present - he’ll do his speech (I’ve seen it)… Yet, that might not be what causes the bug. Maybe you need to get within his proximity for him to bug out and not do any more broadcasts.
I messed around a lot with this one this time. Using bullets to get him under lockdown, then putting emetic devices or a concussion ducker in his hidey houses. Even KO’d a bunch of the street guards, switched disguises and had him in a pile of half naked dudes. Then took pics. This was to assassinate his character.
Anyway, did the standard poison pill kill lockpicked from the default start pharmacy, shot the recorder from near the 2 guards for the statue, caused a bullet panic lockdown, placed a coin down for the camera guy, and roofied his cocktail. He was down by the river for this one.
I’m surprised no one has posted this method already. SASO, no-KOs, one item (an emetic grenade) brought in.
TL;DW: When he spawns in the building near the default start, throw the grenade in the open window as he starts the broadcast. Close the door behind him when he comes to puke and quickly push him over the ledge before the guard following him comes out.
Well, there goes my streak. After more than a year of successfull ETs, I screwed this one up and his guards gunned me down in seconds. Hate this guy. Have to get him next year, I guess.
Gonna do my usual thing and poison his wine with the lethal flower. Never gets old, it’s the perfect end to this particular target, both due to circumstance and his backstory.
Honestly I’m not even proud of this one, but I just got so bored of doing this ET over and over again (tried the rfid explosive but the range was too big and it took out other targets, wanted to do a gas explosion/snipe on the fishing shanty but I couldn’t get the spawn reliably to test it).
But I did find out that apparently if there are to many sick-ered people in an area and not enough space nearby they sometimes switch their spot? For example at one point I poisoned the camera man while the ET and his two bodyguards were vomiting, and the revolutionary just moved from his puking spot and went somewhere else?
Which not it’s a really weird behavior but it also might be the reason why it messed up my proximity explosive kill, especially since I then saw one of his two guards just immediately get better and start following his VIP while he was on his way.
I don’t know maybe it’s just that area that has weird behaviors like that, or straight up the ET.
Update: It seems his tv speech keeps getting skipped if there is a pool (from the gas canister) or a microexplosive near the chair, is it just me or is it an actual bug?
For my 1st attempt, he was in the 2nd floor guard house. I was certain I was shooting the recorder from the Hippie’s hostel Rm, but it seemed to be impervious. So I went to it and dealt with it in person. My thought to get the target out so I could use the on-site lethal poison was to detonate an explosion ( ), but too many enforcers nearby that wouldn’t move so I could slip into the window. Became compromised after trying to bullet-panic one guard.
Restart…
Now he’s by the pier. Get poison, PT behind the store…
Place PT by door of the house he usually escapes to, shot it once.
Detonate to get him into lockdown.
Poisoned
Walked up steps behind the house with the dead drummer. Shot PT and it actually got him, no SA lost! (no collateral damage from the blast)
So off to the exit I went. I did want to change it up from the typical poisoned drink kill and this was a nice surprise.
