Elusive Target #28: THE UNDYING RETURNS (21 November - 1 December 2025)

No, they’re not. One is the Undying, the other is the Undying Returns. Different title, different intro, different look to the target, all with a story-based reason behind it, based entirely around the acting career of the celebrity being utilized. The gimmick works only by the existence of both.

While both are identical gameplay-wise, that’s not the point of my question. IOI has both, but is only running one. Why?

Like thrison said, he can keep returning any number of times & it all adds to the running joke that he’s literally coming back each time. Repeating the first one would provide no additional value to anyone (because it’s the same thing), and ruin the joke. So why would they do that?

But why would they not? They’re two separate ETs that they could get new players who hadn’t know about it before on board. In fact, considering that they keep advertising it as the Undying, with the original non-eyepatched image, and not Undying Returns, and are simply saying that the Undying returns at blank date - which they say about all the returning CelebETs - it’s almost like they’re being deliberately misleading in presenting the ET, but instead they play the follow-up, the second half to the gimmick. Again, why are they not playing both? Why do they only play the one, while advertising the other?

I hate the eyepatch-look. I want to gaze upon Sean Beans beautiful mug without hinderance all day every day. Heisenberg has a point and I agree with it.

Done. Nothing fancy this time, although I finally decided to use the sniper method Diana describes in the opener. I KOed every NPC in or that could walk past/into the robotics lab and hid their bodies, went to the announcer booth or whatever it is across the track that you see in the opening video, used the Jager 7 Tuatara since I wasn’t sure how thick the glass was gonna be, then waited for Faba to walk into the side office and pow, let him have it right in the head. Walked back up there to hide his body then bugged out. SASO.

Oh, I just did similarly but had a durian + fish + lethal poison loadout. If you are careful about avoiding the camera grids, you don’t need to shoot out the entrance camera to the stairs. I got the disguise and completely ignored Dave Ready and got up the stairs without requiring a frisk. Durian in the chair and poisoned him quickly to get out of the building the same way avoiding the camera grids. (I can’t remember if talking to him and activating this mission story forces you to go through that usual frisk zone of those two guards!)

I brought the fish for the quick and easy secret Dolphin exit. Nice stress free SA in two minutes.

It does make you walk past them, but you don’t get frisked by them.

SA/SO NKO/No Emetic, panic shots to get the keycard door open and make as many NPCs as possible leave so I can poison the drink

I feel like the target becomes more fun if you lure him around the map since he is in a heavily guarded area.

I don’t know if this is the right place to say this but for The Oroboros ET Arcade - the level 1 complication to kill the Undying with a Pen should be optional because every time I want to play it I am forced to do just that before I am allowed to kill however I want.

I got bored and decided to recut the mission briefing for this. Doing away with Diana’s excessive handholding present in the official briefing.
