Had a close one! I missed the broker though

Hopefully he’ll be back later this year.
Continuing my trend of accident-only kills on ETs except for very specific exceptions, I’m gonna use the tried and true method of tossing a propane tank down the chimney and adding him to my collection of completed ETs, then use his own hobby knife to take the painting. Still, nice to see my favorite serial killer of the WoA era, representing my favorite sin of the sin-themed targets.
I used a banana (yuck) for the first time ever in Hitman today. I let Cody slip on it while he was changing his disguise. I was laying in wait but I didn’t feel like actually paying attention to it so I let the banana do the work while I took a shower. Came back to find Cody nicely laid out on the floor.
How’d you finish him off? Neck break? Shoot him in the head? Blow him up?
I just snapped his neck and threw him in the nearby laundry bin. Nothing fancy.
Efficiency. Oddly 47 of you.
It was a rare case of an ET rerun where I actually had a specific idea of what I wanted to do with the target and it wasn’t following a strict theme like last year.
I set him up to steal the painting and then shortly after he passed the main gate I sent him for a swim and took the painting home. SASO as usual.
I don’t always cheese everything and make a complete mockery of everything the game represents… even if I do tend to come across that way most of the time.
And done. Had to restart once because I forgot this one was the mission where the NPCs throughout the manor were changed (thought that was the Procurers), and so I got spotted by a maid I forgot was there on the first try.
Succeeded on the second try, and while it was a bit touch-and-go for a bit, and got more convoluted and back-tracky than I’d have liked, I still finished with an accident kill using a propane tank and a fireplace flue, no knockouts, silent assassin, suit only. For a second try on an ET I haven’t done in over a year and using one of the more involved methods, such an outcome is impressive, even by my standards.
Now I await the Forger, and I already know how that’s gonna end for him; crushed under a chandelier.
man i remember when this guy was fresh, when he got leaked and everyone lost their shit at being able to play him early. now he’s just another kill, oh well
I finally got him. I wanted to try it SO, but that was too difficult due to the number of extra maids on the ground floor where I intended to get him.
I say “finally” because I have been playing more on my Switch… Where the Accept and Back buttons are (no pun intended) switched. And I just knew I was going to goof up, hit pause, and Accept returning to the main menu when I meant to go Back.
So good thing I had some FC to work through to get the control scheme more (re)solidified in my mind.
I had his escort slip on a banana in a bush, then tried to do a weapon lure, but he went for a guard anyway. That let me toss a wrench for a distraction, garrote him, and stash him in a box. I went back to the KO’d guard, got his disguise, and then the painting.
I suppose some practice in the ETA will familiarize me with getting him SO.
I forgot to mention… When you get the painting it has that ‘28 of 29’ progress bar in the top right.
I’m still not sure what that’s referring to exactly. Does anyone else know?
I think that it’s referring to achievements in either the ET tab or feats for Dartmoor.
It’s the overall challenges available on a mission. It pops up in main missions too when you complete a challenge. I believe it always will say 1 less than the total on an ET cause the Silent Assassin challenge only pops up after completing the mission.
Last year, I did all the ETs No Loadout SA SONKO (with the exception of The Badboy, which I was in the middle of routing when I died by bullshit).
This year, I’m just approaching the ETs however I like, using whatever tools and disguises I like — so long as I get five stars SA. And it’s so much more enjoyable.
I like this ET. Some funny dialogue, some good opportunities, and, importantly, interactivity. If you get rid of his bodyguard, he changes clothes and ascends. If you get rid of the bodyguards in Alexa’s office, he goes for the painting. I appreciate that. I like a target that not just moves around in a loop, but that actually goes from points A to B to C.
Hitman 3’s ETs are the best of the bunch.
I tried (keyword: tried) to get SA on this.
It didn’t go very well.
Took a different approach this time, kept it simple. Snuck onto the property, subdued the staff working around the ground floor bathroom/locker room near the kitchen, and waited for the target to arrive. Places the two coins found in the hallway near here on the ground inside to make him get close before putting on his staff disguise, and hugged the wall inside the niche where the toilet is, Black Lily at the ready. As soon as he came inside, approached the coins, and the door closed behind him, I leaned out from behind the wall and plugged him twice in the chest. Subdued his guard, snuck my way up to where the painting is, used the target’s own hobby knife to claim it, then snuck my way to the exit. No thrills or frills, first try, SA 5 star.
I chose to do it this way because I try to follow a theme for the ETs every year, and after killing the Heartbreaker with his own scalpel and electrocuting the Broker, I’ve decided that this year, all ETs who are explicit killers (i.e. the Collector, the Censor, etc.), or implicit killers who are repeat offenders (i.e. the Deceivers, The Rage, etc.) will be directly assassinated, and in ways that I’ve never killed them before, while all other ETs will be killed in accidents, in the way I usually kill them. The exceptions to this are the Fixer, who is not a killer as far as we know, and who I stabbed with a knife, and the Liability, who by his nature I simply can’t pass up killing via accident every time, even though he’s an implicit killer. I may alter this strategy here and there depending on how I feel at the time any given ET is activated, but that’s how I plan to approach the rest of Year 5 as of now.
