Elusive Target #3: THE COLLECTOR (Year 6: 17 - 26 April 2026)

While setting up a contract, I encountered a guy in Colorado who smokes, and I’ve found that he seems to blow himself up just by placing a PT behind him. My plan was to snipe the tank and he’d get next to it and smoke. But he was blowing himself up without me ever sniping it.

Whittleton creek had this issue… If you ever recall ‘Door Opened’ notification coming from out of nowhere. It was a cop next to a building blowing up an intact PT in a shed. I don’t know if that was ever fixed, but it definitely used to happen.

Correct. Watch the video. I’m holding a propane tank, crouching in the trailer behind a smoking NPC, and I explode and die.

I believe you, I’m just saying it’s not a thing, or rather, not a thing that’s intended to happen. Something’s wrong there.

Finally got the a55hole! I thought I’d start as in-house security then go for the painting first - just to mix things up a bit. He eventually gets inside and his enforcer bodyguard follows him around. He appeared to be in an infinite loop going from room to room. I noticed he got next to a fireplace. So upstairs I went with skeleton key in hand to drop a PT down the chimney. Oh but then… THEN, he finally decides to go upstairs! Good thing I went first or he’d be stuck on 1st floor for all eternity.

Dip :poop: sees the painting is gone and starts to escape. I follow him out to the front, KO 2 yard workers and throw a feather duster at him, then dragged him into the bushes and snapped his neck. Surprisingly I never got spotted or had any bodies found. SA but over 25 freaking minutes.

I had planned to catch him in the bathroom with a couple coins leading to the toilet for a drowning kill. He apparently couldn’t enter it until I was nowhere near the bathroom (e.g. upstairs).

This time I started as a Gardener and got him and his bodyguard walking around the greenhouse with an emetic grenade. His bodyguard went one way and he headed to the lake, where he ended up at the bottom of it. I then went to Zachery’s bedroom balcony, subdued the bodyguard, got his disguise and headed for the painting.

5 star Silent Assassin :star_struck:

SA/SO no KO all objectives, used the lure method to bring him to the graveyard (used some emetics to make some NPCs move, I might’ve been able to push him but I didn’t want to reset and I think it would’ve made too much noise?), climbed to take the painting w/ zachary’s room shortcut, boat exit

I’m never doing alternating exits again, I keep getting spotted by unreliable NPC cycles especially this guy:

Had a bit of fun with the purple Easter eggs today with this one, usually this ET is a quick SA but I decided to take my time and wait it out for SASO , I started at the main gate and worked my way to the top floor along the outside, knocking out and hiding all NPCs on the top floor including Alexia and her bodyguard, then I cut out the painting, grabbed the propane flask, the shotgun and waited in Alexia’s bedroom until the Collector made his way upstairs, I walked behind him as he approached Alexia’s office and noticed the painting was missing, then when he was about to start his escape I hit him with the first egg, waited until he got up and nailed him with the second and repeated with the third egg, I finally hit him with the blue poison egg knocking him out completely,I then threw the propane tank near him and shot it with the shotgun blowing him up, I worked my way back down along the outside of the mansion and hot footed my way back towards the motorcycle making my escape, took 26 minutes but it was actually the most fun I’ve had with this ET

Technical gameplay systems question: if you blue egg the target then propane explode him, and his body gets found— does that void SA because a target was tranq-KO’d before being accident killed?

In my own experience as long as no one witnesses me knock out or finds the target unconscious it doesn’t void Silent Assassin, in the Collectors case for instance they found his corpse after the “accidental” elimination has already occurred and they heard the explosion

Done. Nothing special. Used the usual accident method. Sedative gum at the delivery area hidden stash, used it to sedate a staff member in an out-of-the-way place to take his disguise. Made my way up to Carlisle’s floor and took the propane tank from the towel closet, then went up to the top floor above the fireplace in her office and waited for the target to make his way up there. Dropped the tank into the chute once he was in front of the fireplace and bang, Bob’s your uncle. Took his own hobby knife to get the painting, put his knife back where it was, went back to where I left my starting outfit to reclaim it, then vamoosed. Silent Assassin, 5 stars, accident kill, HPP adhered to. Flawless.

Oh no! The Collector slipped on a banana peel in the staff room and fell down! Then I accidentally shot him in the head! Then I accidentally tore a painting off a wall with a letter opener! Then I accidentally rode out of their on a motorcycle!

Ok, one of those things might have been an accident…maybe.

Nice and easy Silent Assassin on this on again!

My method is normally starting as a Gardener, then throwing an emetic grenade at him behind the greenhouse causing him and his bodyguard to go their separate ways then 2 minutes later he’s kicked into the lake. Then all I do is head up to the balcony attached to Zachery’s room, steal the bodyguards disguise and then head up to the top of the manor via the drainpipes to steal the painting.

5 stars, Silent Assassin

No, whether you sedate him, bonk him or never even KO him is irrelevant, all the witnesses will find will be a “body killed by a propane explosion”. It’s only if he’s found KO’d before being blown up that you’re going to have problems.

SA/SO, NKO/NE/NL/Ghost (not supreme because of having to distract the guard), took a hammer while going to the garden (near the first cemetery “entrance”), pekabooed the bodyguard to be able to lure the ET into the bushes and get a KO, used the dropped knife to take the painting and brought it back and finished the job (with a couple of more distractions on the guard since it keeps looking at the hiding area)

I like how the painting is a really simple objective to take once you know how to move around the map, making shortcuts more of a quality of life thing instead of a necessity.

Also I figured that once you complete the optional objective you weren’t able to reset anymore but apparently that’s not the case, making this ET a really simple one even for new players.

SASONKO, default (kinda) loadout, wired.

Don’t do this at home tho - heavily depends on the timings and Alexa’s arrival. If the terrace walking guard comes back too soon - you’re toast. It’d be probably way safer to garrote him in the secret room, but I have another plan for that spot, didn’t want to repeat myself.

Got nervous in the end and almost botched the entire thing right before the escape. Hate those two near the exit bridge with a passion, next time I’m running to the bike.

Yeah, I also just found out. Been messing around in what I thought was ETA, and then my body left my soul when I got the Year 6 challenge for stealing the painting. Luckily, it was still restartable.
