So I was lucky enough to read the forum first and notice that the mission is… not exactly working properly. Hence why I did arcade first, which helped me a lot.
In my opinion… this is probably one of the worst missions with celebreties. We barely get interaction with Bruce Lee, the targets are well… Have like 1.5 opportunities per target overall, which really sucks (you can basically just either get them in closed rooms or with like 1 more opportunity that we saw already a billion times)
And it is so fucking long to wait for Lee to win everyone… way easier to get the job done myself, which is like
And cherry on top – it is fucking Bangkok. Why did IOI think this was a good idea to pick this map at all?… there is like 3 ways to infiltrate upstairs: invitation from guy stopping her mom from spending money, fire extingsher panic (or other ones), climb the pipe.
So yes, I don’t see the point of this mission whatsoever.
Personally, I really enjoyed this Bruce Lee Elusive Target mission.
I had fun using a variety of approaches: having Lee kill the main target, killing targets while disguised as a prisoner, eliminating three targets using pufferfish, a laptop, and a barbell, disrupting the match by disguising myself as a referee, and even disguising myself as a participant to actually fight.
I do enjoy puzzles, but I couldn’t figure out the safe combination.
After playing HITMAN for so long, I keep assuming highlighted objects mean guns, bombs, or some action I need to take. Got fooled.
I wish there had been some hint, like scanning with the camera revealing something like, “This boat seems related to the safe combination…”
However, I felt Stage 2 of the Arcade mode was redundant.
Having to spend 30 minutes clearing it every time I wanted to play multiple times felt like a real hassle.
This applies to other Arcade content too—I wish you could reset mid-level.
Alternatively, if you’ve cleared a level even once, I’d like it to be freely selectable for play.
Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
By the way, when playing on Switch 2, a bug occurred during the final match between Lee and the Target.
Multiple times, neither character spoke their lines and both took damage.
The cause isn’t clear, but it might have been triggered by changing Lee’s starting position to the opposite side during the final match.

Additionally, when participating as Rory Cutmore, there seems to be a glitch where arriving at the match venue just barely avoiding a forfeit allows the match to proceed even though 47 barely moves.

*I have also posted in the bug report thread.
It really drags the Arcade contract down for sure.
Everytime you want to replay Level 1 which lets you do the mission in anyway you want, to have another go around you’re forced to do a run which lasts approximately 30 minutes before you can reset and go back to Level 1. I really wouldn’t be surprised at all to see this be the CelebrET Arcade contract that is the least played by far, even by only those that buy the DLC before its removed.
I’d rather they just slapped the usual “Don’t Get Spotted” complication on it because the complication they’ve used is terrible.
It absolutely does! Thank you!
I thought I’d share my opinion on this ET. First of all I’m always happy we’re getting new missions the only thing is that I wish they would utilise more of the less used maps that have little content to them.
maps like:
Miami, Santa Fortuna, Mumbai, Whittleton Creek, Ambrose Island, Dubai, Hawkes Bay, Haven Island and New York.
I just think using the same maps, whilst they are good, is just repetitive for an example 9/13 targets in Bangkok now use the queen suite penthouse when we have the rest of the map or the other side of the map that only 1 target uses.
Saying this I do like that they are putting effort into changes on the map, I personally love how we have new balcony’s and windows to climb through and the exit onto the beach is being used (which I wish they added to the other missions).
The mission itself for Bangkok is a strong mission. In terms of the past celebrity ET I think this is a weak one. The main target is almost not acknowledged at all in the briefing the photo for the mission isn’t even the target it’s Bruce Lee. Which I find a shame because his design is cool.
I do like the 3 optional targets so I can’t really complain about them.
I think the main problem with this level though is how long it takes if you’re wanting to do the tournament and do the story line of the mission. 30 mins plus on a mission is crazy especially when there’s nothing different being done it’s the same thing over and over again. And for what for 47 to not even deal with the main target but Bruce Lee does with the same fight animations as he would with everyone else.
to top everything off I just bought the pack because I play all the missions (yes all the missions regularly) and now it won’t let me download and keeps referring to an issue being made within the game. I’m on PS5 but have the PS4 version downloaded so I don’t stack trophies on my account but it seems it’s not letting me download the PS4 trophies.
Hopefully the next ET is better, with that being said this isn’t a bad ET it’s just not at the same level of The Undying, The Splitter or The Banker.
two times
Roland Chau: Kill in hes office dropping from window, kill with poison, drop from balcony, kill in toilet, poison with emetic so he will lose, kill with chandelier.
Xiao Hu: Kill with chandelier, chooke with barbell, push from window when she is excercise.
Xiang Weisheng: Electrocute when he is meditating, kill with fugu fish, poison with emetic and kill in toilet, kill with chandelier.
Well technically you also have the option of killing anyone in level 2 to instantly fail, then wait 12 hours for the escalation to reset to level 1 :x
Hm, I killed the girl with a lot of different methods: drowning, weightlifting bank, chandelier drop, push her out the window, lure her in the wardrobe room and kill her and that is just the methods in the gym. There will be others for sure.
Yes, it is kind of limited, but there are more ways here too: You can get the invitation another way, you can disguise as hotel staff (maybe waiter too), you can distract the guards and sneak up without inviation. Of course, you have to use the steps or the pipe, yes, but how you do it, is still pretty much up to you.
Agree 100%. IOI doesn’t have to relegate Special Assignments to 2019-era HITMAN 2. This, The Banker, The Splitter, and maybe a few others should be converted to Special Assignments or should’ve been Special Assignments in the first place. There’s definitely enough remixing to warrant it, and it’d provide a level of permanence that’d make replaying it more enjoyable. I’m almost to level 4000 and terrified of even starting The Infiltrator haha
Not a bug, that is how it has always worked.
IOI marked this as a known issue in the patch notes.
He runs to the office.
Keycard hacker, EMP, or just tail him in. (You might be able to agility your way into it - but I know IOI have blocked off some routes with air conditioners)
What?
For suit only, but you can also agility your way. It’s almost like having multiple ways to approach a problem is classic HITMAN level design…
Did the ET regular mission and the ET arcade the last weekend.
Pros
The plot: Having the celebr’ET not a target, but a VIP that must be kept alive is a good twist compared to previous entires where the celebrity was the target. I appreciate the martial arts tournament as a cover for a disguised criminal faction recruitment. Moreover, if there is a main target, other targets are progressively included in the gameplay, making it more complex than expected.
Mission stories: Different ways to perform the mission are available (as a guard, a VIP, a fighter…). You can fix the game by playing the judge, the fight order can be altered… There is even an unexpected story with the hostage in a backroom.
Nice 47: Mission is still a success if the additional targets are not killed. Additional targets must be removed from the tournament… A walkover is sufficient to fullfill the objective. 47 can keep his hands clean
The paralytic poison: A new poison mechanic. And the fact that several antitodes are present on the map offers a good replayability.
Proxy kill: There are opportunities to kill targets w/o even touching them, which is a nice touch. The only requirement is doing the right manipulations.
The map: The revamp of Bangkok is done well. The studio is no longer occupied, leaving the staff cleaning the big room. Even though it is a small part that is altered, the modifications are great enough to enjoy it.
The suit reward: The suit obtained by playing the ET is beautiful. I do like this suit, and will probably be my new go-to suit
Cons
Small bugs: During my runs, I have encountered few bugs:
I do hope they will be fixed soon.
ET system: IOI did a very good job on this mission… and leave us frustrated. Because, once the ET mission is done (or failed), that’s all folks. Thanks for playing.
Yes, there is the ET arcade. But the requirements of the 2nd stage are too much. If you want to play this mission, you’ve to restart from the beginning. If the 1st stage leaves you free to achieve the objectives, the 2nd stage forces you to follow specific strats because of the mandatory objectives. It downgrades the replay value of the ET arcade.
Translations mistakes: Several lines are not translated in French, like actions on objects, description of mandatory objectives in the arcade, or descriptions of additional targets.
Time-limited DLC: A very bad move. It’s nice to have Bruce Lee in-game… but removing a whole mission just for the sake of contracts policies
I would pay the same money even though Bruce Lee wasn’t part of the deal you know…
Conclusion
ET arcade: I repeat myself, but this system is no longer suitable for the replay value of ET missions. IOI needs to find a solution for this system:
The mission: Since two years, the Celeb’ET missions are of great quality with new mechanics. It is not a small revamp of the regular mission, but the map is significantly changed to introduce new gameplays.
The Undying with the single mission story, but interesting enough to approach the target, like the weapon room full of opportunities.
The fight with the Dis******* was a good mechanic gameplay (It’s time to swap this fu***** bas**** with a random fighter guy IOI).
The poker game with Le Chiffre (where several mission stories were present) was a great nod to James Bond. Or the clones in the Splitter…
IOI did a nice move with their last ET entries. Far far better than the regular ET that we had before. I enjoyed this mission. I do hope that one day I could play them like any other missions. Please IOI don’t leave these missions in a vacuum.
Mission completed, IOI! The money (for the DLC) has been wired.
That really would work better for this one, and also The Banker. When there’s a lot to explore, it would be really nice if we could explore without restrictions like no saves, lockout on failure, and the escalation-style requirements of the Arcade that require half the runs to be done with even more restrictions on playstyle.
But it seems like IOI tends to double down on anything that seems to work once, without regard for whether it continues to work for everything. Near the start of H3 they did some escalations as bonus content, which was ok, but then Seven Deadly Sins was all escalations, and the Arcade had to use the escalation format too, which really wore out the concept for a lot of players. Later they had some success with celebrity ETs, and now it’s all celebrity ETs even as the missions are getting more complex which tends to suffer from the ET format.
Personally I’ve held off on buying any of the celebrity ET DLCs, even at $4.99 it doesn’t seem really worth it to me just to get Arcade access and some reskinned items. The $9.99 bundle (Undying + Drop + Splitter), still meh. But if they’d offer DLCs with these missions as Special Assignments instead of Arcade, saving enabled, I think I’d hit that buy button.
Especially since they could just do the exact same thing but replace ET Arcade with Special AQssignments or however they want to call them. Just like that, poof.
The agility route into the room is unavailable. You can only use the open window to dump bodies, unfortunately.
No need to replace anything, just add the new DLC ETs to the 4 already available special assignments. Best of both worlds
I agree.
Considering how mission content has diversified and become more enjoyable, changing it to Special Assignments seems like a logical step.
Personally, I’d really like to see the implementation of a contract mode for celebrity content if possible.
I enjoyed messing with the tournament wall in this, but a lot of the issues others have had with the ET format I have also griped with.
(Also they can be called Elusive Assignments if they actually decide to make them more traditional.)
Well, now I can confirm it’s possible to disqualify Lee when disguised as the MC (and that it fails the mission instantly)
I had this happen but by accident; a bug caused the names to be messed up so instead of Lee and the other fighter it read “Disqualify Roland” and another name. So it was a 50/50 guess which I got wrong.
