Elusive Target #35: LeCHIFFRE (Returns: 27 April - 25 May 2026)

Same drill as before, only this time I used the signature suit with gloves, and I used the antidote instead of letting the basement scene play out. I also dropped a chandelier on the optional target for an accident kill, so that when Le Chiffre is killed by Murillo, only one official murder has occurred and it can’t be pinned on me. Flawless.

AuzzieGamer, who was among the first to introduce me to the Hitman series, is BACK. And he took care of Le Chiffre.

I didn’t notice this last year. But IO included a very small error in the mission briefing. At the very end when the screen starts to go all mosaic-y just before the black bars expand and close the screen - one of the mosaic sections in the top right-ish corner gets stuck on the screen and just sits there for the rest of the video file.

Ultra rare mission briefing rendering error

Since Monsieur Le Chiffre is back I thought I would post my discovery last month (I’m not sure if it was mentioned before) on here:

The hand in the Freelancer safehouse is the same as the final one that beat Le Chiffre in the film! There’s also a bloody purple handkerchief on the corner of the table (not pictured), from when Bond was poisoned

Good find! I personally never noticed that.

Once again, I wish so very badly this was a permanent side mission so I could make contracts on it.

I do wish they would readd some of the NPCs they removed from the basement. Or just remove the security cameras from the map.

There’s literally no challenge in wiping the tapes. To get caught down there, you’d have to be trying to get caught.

Same, this was quite a refreshing take on the Paris map.

personally there should have been more murello guards down there guarding the security tapes and the torture room

Honestly I think it should be left as is, the irony behind it makes me laugh when the guard walking you upstairs to the poker game mentions “security being at an all time high, to protect your money” while walking you though a section that on previous missions was a frisk zone and with the basement being so unsecure it’s just icing on the cake.

Got him. Standard procedure: took up Smith’s mini-contract by eliminating Mr. Winding to get his invite. Dropped a chandelier on Winding to make it an accident - seems to be happening in the museum lately, as the same thing happened to The Forger literally just the other day. Then did the poker game round 1, ran to get the antidote (allowable for the HPP because of the circumstances), had the dealer stack the deck, cleared LeChiffre out and let Murillo clean up. Walked out like I owned the place. Flawless.

I don’t know if it was brought up before by anyone during one of the other runs The Banker had, but I think I’ve figured out two reasons why 47 of all people was able to be poisoned by something as obvious as drinking champagne from a noted poisoner, when he’s usually so careful, especially while on the job. Firstly, 47 is usually able to feel out a person fairly quickly, but with LeChiffre, he’s just meeting the man and LeChiffre’s poker face is legendary, not just for the game either. Even someone as experienced and gifted as 47 would need to spend more time with the man to be able to sense his ill-intent directly because of that, but 47 probably isn’t aware of the extent to which LeChiffre has control over his tells.

The second reason being that the poison in the glass wasn’t meant for him, it was meant for Smith. Since 47 is better at detecting danger to himself than to others, combined with the above situation with being unable to read LeChiffre yet at the time he took the drink, he wasn’t able to detect the poison in the glass, especially since I’m assuming it was odorless- even 47’s senses are useless if there’s nothing there that a human is capable of detecting, even a human as enhanced as 47. So that at least provides 47 a couple of outs for making a rare bone-headed decision during this mission.

At least his two screw-ups in Absolution had the excuse of him acting for personal reasons and not being on an actual assassination job, making his usual alertness sloppier than normal, and his two times being poisoned by Diana being that she’s his one blind spot due to their genuine friendship. If not for the above points, it would seem that 47’s common sense just slipped away when he decided to take that drink.

Excellent kill by the way, I just threw two propane tanks near the helicopter entrance, then placed a micro proximity taser where only he could trigger it, which then panicked him to point he tried to escape, while it’s fun to watch it ,lacks substance story wise.

Now a couple of my theories as to why 47 would of allowed himself to be poisoned.

With Diana, there’s a reason he allowed himself to befriend her in the first place, their loyalty is mutual, 47 acknowledges the fact she’s his equal when it’s getting him near his target just as he is at eliminating them, 47 knows she ha a plan and Diana knows how to tell him without words.

Le Chiffre on the other hand (and please excuse my language before hand), 47 drank his poison in a big “FUCK YOU “ moment ,it was more of a phycological attack, say Murillo was the one whom hired him,not to kill Le Chiffre but to break him and wish for death, 47 and Diana where already aware of his poison, she had a plan and 47 knew what to do, Le Chiffre not only witnessing his own “ace in the hole” poison trick fail, but then he loses a match he calculated himself 100% chance to win, he without a fight marched himself towards the executioner at that moment though he was slightly hesitant at the end.

Poisoned the champagne glass - very quick and easy.

I couldn’t poison his glass, only his eyedrops. He seemed to have a custom dying animation for them, but I was already at the exit as it was triggering. Not sure if he has special “I’ve been poisoned” dialogue too; I know Francesa de Santis does, so there is precedent.

Sniped both targets in the head. SASONKO.

Kinda similar to my garrote kill, but he doesn’t really go anywhere else besides his office. And once you get the invite - he’s just glued to his champagne glass, until you start a poker game with him. Still, not often I can pull off an actual sniper kill Silent Assassin (let alone two), so I’m satisfied. The gun planted near the desk is to get rid of Chiffre’s personal bodyguard.

Gotta spare poor Winding next time.

Got the duck today I got say it’s good for distraction instead of blowing up

Why? It’s a fair contract. No monetary compensation, perhaps, but it aids 47’s mission, it help’s Smith with his job, and as a spy working for a criminal, he’s got it coming. I never pass up the opportunity to eliminate him. It’s a two-for-one.

True, that’s why I killed him 3 times already. Gonna spare him just for a change, feeling bad for the guy. Not much else I can do with Le Chiffre, so might as well use the other two invitations to infiltrate, or fix the game myself as a croupier.
