Elusive Target #38: THE HARBINGER - Patient Zero REQUIEM, ft Milla Jovovich (25 February - 24 March 2026)

It’s worth noting that you’ll have to run to escape the lab, otherwise the gas will kill you.

Yes, I know that. And my window for being able to play it in that time is going to be very narrow. If I have an internet or power outage during that time, I’ll be fucked.

That’s an acceptable exception. Have to run to beat the virus in the original PZ as well.

My immediate thought was “wow you must have poor time management skills”, but we don’t know your life, routine, priorities, schedules, etc. You do you friend! Good luck with the mission!

You can really get it done in a couple minutes if you want to go the easy poisoning route (you won’t, but you could). Even doing the mission story(-ies) you’re looking at a time commitment of less than an hour, I think. Hope you find the time to enjoy it as it is quite good.

@IOI_Artjoms whens the next deployment of the ducks, I’ve completed both the ET and the ETA for The Harbinger last week, don’t know if it’s a Switch 2 Specific issue where it’s not collecting the data, but just curious since I’ve been checking religiously on if the Duck landed in my account or not.

Maybe the waiters brought in new batch and no one has touched it yet.

Or a lot of chicanery to distract everyone in the kitchen long enough to plug the flash drive in (gives slightly different dialogue from the team leader who radios it in instead of talking to 47)

Just for the record: You can escape from the lab without running, if you walk straight to the escape doors as soon as Lilith starts her dialogue with 47. But it will skip part of the dialogue and it’s a little risky of course. But I tried it and it is doable.

Why is 47 allowed to just walk into the mansion without an invitation ?

Devereux knows 47 and it would make sense if she wanted him there however it was never confirmed by anyone that she intended for his presence.

If she told the guards to let him in then Diana would surely comment on that.

Did I miss something ?

Generally, when he needs to attend exclusive events, 47 has an invitation secured from someone else or forged well enough to pass inspection. However, since other guests are not stopped and asked for invitations at the gate, it’s possible than anyone who arrives and looks presentable is allowed in. (We’re assuming the player chose something that makes sense for attending a party, rather than a blue flamingo mascot outfit.) In fact, Mansion Staff and Gardener are the only two disguises that must pass any sort of inspection at the gate, and that is simply a frisk check.

Additionally, it would make some amount of sense for Lilith to allow “random” people to attend the party. Since her plan is to infect a number of people with Nightshade and then send them back home to spread the virus.

47’s default outfit for that mission is a leather coat with sweater so dress code probably had no role in it

I ran through the gate wearing a tactical sweater, gas mask, and combat webbing so I’m not sure what outrageous outfit wouldn’t be welcomed…

It seems that my message was unclear, my apologies. I meant that 47 canonically owns several high-end formal suits, and would likely wear one of them to attend a formal event, rather than an outfit that makes him stand out.

It’s not very hard at all to cure all the NPCs who get infected before Ether kills them. Even if half the foyer gets infected, three or four well-aimed cure grenades lobbed from the balcony can fix the crowd, and a few cure gun darts can get the few around the edges.

Or, as I pointed out and then others found again later, and then repeated to you already, you can easily stop Charlotte (the woman in furs) from getting downstairs in the first place. Even with no-KOs, if you leave a gun on the stairs for her to find, there’s just time to go craft a cure grenade and hit her with it before she makes it down. Or preemptively KO her (and Gregory and the maid) before going to the lab.

It is still there.

Maybe the waiters are keeping everything looking perfect, and maybe not too many of the guests have touched the food yet. The large number of bottles may be to help ensure people don’t have to find a waiter to get one once everyone does start on the drinking.

I did that once, but it was quite a bit of chicanery  (lots of cure grenades left on the floor near the weapon box to keep them occupied, and a few remote devices to have them go there in the first place). Emetic devices might make it a bit easier, although I wouldn’t be surprised if the suits protect them from most.

I suppose you could also use the paid-DLC suit that makes you immune to the gas in the first place.

I think it’s just an issue of the game being the game. In a real life situation, yes, you’d be expected to wear some sort of actual suit (even though they’re ridiculous) and the guards would stop someone showing up in a clown outfit or a wet suit. The game, though, doesn’t distinguish between the various suits, generally - there are obvious exceptions. There’s no in-game difference between the classic suit-and-tie combinations, the formal tuxedos, or the more outrageous stuff like the Santa outfit, Jack-O’Lantern, Buccaneer, etc.

The player can wear whatever they want whether it fits in or not with the aesthetic of the level or would actually be welcomed in a real-world scenario. Showing up to a formal event in a flamingo outfit is just as appropriate, in-game, as showing up in a formal tuxedo. It’s up to the player whether they want to play it “real” or make it into a farce.

I don’t think it’s an issue, just that the freedom of the game is not always realistic. Which makes sense, as it is a videogame. I just mean that canonically, 47 probably wore a more formal outfit than most players chose to equip for the mission.

That’s pretty much what I meant too. I didn’t mean “issue” as in “problem”…more “confusion” than anything. If the mission were a real thing in the real world, 47 would obviously not be showing up in the flamingo outfit, but the game being the game, the player can do it that way if they wish. We’re in agreement.

Of course, but I think, he won’t buy the DLC, otherwise he could just do the mission, when he has more time for it, rather than doing it now, after planning it out completely.

Go look at other missions in similar scenario’s. Yes, the foods and drinks are orderly, but not to this extent. No matter the “in-universe” reason, it looking too perfect is very odd in my opinion.

Speaking from professional experience, this looks like a pretty standard catering spread. Yes it does look like an overload of sparkling wine, but more concerningly, those should be kept cold. If you want to avoid a whole lot of complaints from privileged assholes, that is.

I’m not saying it shouldn’t look neat, I’m saying it shouldn’t look as if one asset got copied over X amount of times with no variation in their position or rotation.
