Elusive Target #39: THE HERBALIST (ft. Snoop Dogg) (27 August - 27 September 2026)

“I too enjoy smoking the weed, inhaling the LSD, and putting the ecstasy up my bum.”

I love love LOVE it when a mission gives you all the tools you could need, to complete kills and objectives, without having to bring items in your loadout.

I should note that in addition to the sniper rifle and poison I mentioned elsewhere, this mission also has fiber wires (stethoscope in doctor’s cabin, headphones by pool), a remote explosive in the security hut (in case a crowbar for the safe isn’t loud enough), and a pirate’s saber (mentioned by others already).

I would love additional challenges based on sabotaging the crop farm, as well as a sword/katana kill challenge.

Yeah, the crate containing all the fruit you need for the cocktail is really helpful. Too bad I noticed it after the kill (and after stealing things all around the mansion).

Yes I, also, ran about inventorizing a mental Hitmaps before I listened to the full dialogue spoken by the staff NPCs.

really good mission with lots of freedom of approach. definitely up there with the Harbinger and Dragon- although, I have to say- I hate this recent trend with how tacky and gaudy the celeb ET missions are beginning to feel, theming wise.

we’re a long way from the sleek and stylish spy thriller of paris, and even further from the sublimely disturbed nature of the original games. something about all the green theming and ugly morsizzles branding. I get that the brand is supposed to be obnoxious and eye roll worthy by design- a grower farm isn’t a bad idea for a mission and the way you can mess with the racks is cool- but a little subtlety wouldn’t hurt- the cookie taste test felt so out of place and the branding just looks ugly. it just doesn’t belong anywhere near the hitman universe. the missions and advertising for eminem, wiz khalifa, and macgregor are guilty of it the same thing- albeit in slightly different, tacky ways. it’s extra disappointing since we’ve had had plenty of “sleek” celeb ET missions that you expect from hitman 2016- but it makes it doubly confusing when the tone gets smeared like this.

it’s good that snoop dogg isn’t phoning it in, (unlike wiz khalifa) since he clearly elevates the material he’s given- but I would much prefer the more twisted tone they went with for in the Harbinger and the Drop- and to a lesser degree the spy thriller tone for Undying, Dragon, Splitter.

I can’t complain too much though- since like I said- the layout and opportunities are great.

Pretty stoked with myself figuring out a 56 second run on the Special Assignment using the additional starting locations.

Probably done with this now until its reactivated next year at this point.

@IOI_Artjoms There are a couple of localization errors on the new mission (spanish):

The subtitles for this conversation between this guards is not localized

As well as every conversation between this two NPCs

Also, for every interaction the requires a screwdriver the prompt just says “need”, but it doesn’t say what you actually need.

I have had to hit :black_medium_square: to “go online” every time I have logged in over the last few days and sometimes it doesn’t work and I have to do it a second time. Based on this I am gonna guess Snoop Dogg’s addition has increased player numbers. I don’t remember that happening in a long while.

With the theme of the Dank Duck I decided to mess around with some sedative poisons:

  • As expected, sedative kills the crops just like emetic or lethal poison.

  • If you put sedative poison in the ventilation system during the taste test, you lose SA despite all the NPCs being knocked out at the same time. This is because one of them “sees” the target before being sedated themselves. I dislike when the timing works this way but I understand it’s a programming thing.

  • However, you can absolutely time it so that no one sees Snoop drop. Just wait till they’re going to their seats. Then it’s just a short drag to the incinerator.

Real missed opportunity for the incinerator smoke to be green! Come on y’all. I don’t casually do this but I’m tagging @IOI_Artjoms in an effort to get this patched in and my username included in a pun down the line.

Except for the screwdriver, which is located on the second floor of the mansion or in its basement, and there isn’t another one anywhere else on the map. The screwdriver is required to destroy the farm by sabotaging the crates.

This type of assassination setup is more intended for situations where, for example, you want to kill the target from a distance without entering the property. So in this case, bringing a screwdriver with you is a good idea.

I still don’t understand why the CCTV cameras can simply be shot, while you need a screwdriver to destroy these crates.

Someone mentioned above that you can shoot the circuit boards in the 3 fuse boxes. I haven’t tested that myself.

There is also a screwdriver in the resort gym. So there are at least 3 in the mission.

While we’re at it, there’s also a car battery down in the server farm! So if you want to set up a fun No Loadout propane explosion using intricate throwing angles and not waiting for Snoop to go out on the balcony to smoke… you can do that.

I love the freedom this mission allows the player. And I have not encountered bugs like some others so I hold this ET in very high regard.

There are, apparently, five:

  • Upper floor of the villa, convenient to the key that’s also up there.
  • Farm catwalk, near the nutrient inlet.
  • Farm harvest/grow room (the room with the conveyor belt).
  • Resort gym.
  • Hitmaps says there’s also one carried by a waiter in the Restaurant Maintenance Room. I haven’t checked that one myself.

There are also apparently five crowbars, needed to open the hydroponics power cabinets before being able to screwdriver the circuit boards:

  • Private island, near the basement door
  • Near the ladder up the radio tower
  • Farm incinerator room
  • Secret room, inside an open locker
  • Hitmaps says there’s also one in the Villa security room.

Can confirm, but it’s a pain to get. Unless you’re wearing a bodyguard disguise.

It’s actually not too bad, both doors leading into that room are unlocked. If you use the south side one the guard patrol pattern will lead to both guards facing away, then you grab the crowbar out of the box (it’s also on the south side).

Gotta be quick leaving though because the doors are glass and they can see you through it.

Even though that’s an option, the three power supply crates can also be destroyed by bullets (the 3 crates are also conveniently visible and highlighted from the radio tower vantage point, allowing you to snipe them), the Remote EMP charge, and explosives.

It might be useful for players with “No KO” playstyles as it causes only Cane’s bodyguards to investigate individually, and if you destroy the Private island and Restuarant crates first, both guards will be gone for a pretty good amount of time.

Oh nice! I hadn’t noticed that.

Wait do you not have to crowbar them open? Sniper is enough?

yes, one for the crate door, and one for the motherboard chip. You can also just shoot it with any firearm ( other than the dart guns ofc )
