But that’s what I’m saying. There’s 2 routes where you don’t need to “avoid”. You just run past them cuz they never move or see you.
In my run above, I don’t distract any npc other than the guard blocking the exit with a pistol peek-a-boo trick. Other than that, not 1 npc was ever in my way.

I guess if you like the safest and easier side to it, then ya, I can agree with you.

Dear beloved people,
we are gathered here today on this glorious day to celebrate the demise of Philo Newcombe, a self-proclaimed man- and womanizer specialised into oblitering lovers by means which are best left to the imagination.

Following the trio, it is obvious how both women are uncomfortable around Philo. I lost it when Michelle sheltered herself with a unconvincing “i’m flattered”. Philo is so obnoxious until i heard him saying how he planned about “cutting her from his scrapbook”. That is one scary line.
At the dancefloor, i was surprised to see how random the scene was. They can stay a few minutes or literally pass through, a nice touch.

As i’m still not familiar with the entire vineyard, i wandered around dressed as a waiter until i found the stalactite. I found it appropriate since his heart is dead cold. It was this or a pair of shears… I managed to distract him from the vineyard’s visit and bam! Right through his head. I hid him in one of the boxes. Didn’t get silent assassin but oh well.

I didn’t understand the utility of the scrapbook until today. It took me a while to find it and i really liked how it was used for the purpose of the mission. This time i poisoned him, which is not as enjoyable as throwing something through his head though.
I got the Absolution costume, now that is a cool reward! That really was a fun mission.

I hope to screencapture the next mission.

How did you manage to lead him under the presser?

Gun lure trick.

@Count.Rushmore has a good tutorial on it:

When you lose Silent Assassin at (literally) the last moment. . .

But the computer says “fuck it” and gives it to you anyway!

Video coming tomorrow morning.

Goodbye Philo…

Oh, no, he’s not dead. I just missed him.
Yeah, I had a bit of a busy day (busy week, actually), and while I could have spent some time at 1am getting this ET done, I opted to get some much-needed sleep for school instead.
8am comes and goes, and with it, my first H3 ET that I miss.

I’m okay. Definitely not sad and disappointed. Nor am I frustrated at this vague system where I don’t know when or how long he’ll be back in the future…

Man, I wish I could have talked to you. I understand responsibilities, but I did the mission last night at like 1AM.

I had never before looked at any videos or tried this mission and. . .

Holy cow man, that was insane how you still managed to get SA at the way end lol the guard obviously spotted you :joy: regardless, that was super lucky. Well done!

I was so mad! Then I was so happy/lucky!

If anyone is interested, here’s OutsideXbox’s take on the Heartbreaker Elusive Target.

Has anyone found out what Michelle and Phoebe do if Philo is killed (or goes missing) without them being given the scrapbook?

They head to the same location they go when they are given the scrapbook, except they just stand there with no dialogue.

You fail the mission if either die right

If the couple dies you only lose SA and points, meaning they CAN die

He looks like the horrible beau that behaves and sounds so fake. I wonder about the notebook. Oh i’m going to enjoy precipitating his downfall. Nice work. .

This mission really shows a lot of Mendoza’s flaws, especially in regards to the exits.

I was planning on doing a Diana exit after killing Philo, but after many restarts, finding out you can’t even kill Tamara and Yates in death-by-proxy ways, and messing up SA, I gave up and killed the guy on a mad-dash to the boat exit, guards all alert.

I’ll cut together the best parts of my run but it’s really nothing special.

And yeah… this mission was hard for Mendoza. The guy has an insanely long route in this enormous map, took me over half an hour before I ran into the guy I’m sure, while trying to set up proxy kills.
I think there should be more specific wording than “he is showing a couple a tour of Vinedo Yates”… because that’s a big property. I was hoping his notebook would give you an itinerary of where he’d stop by, but I eventually came across him thanks to the subtitles.

The target was interesting as a weird serial-killer type, and I liked how the couple definitely did not let any of his creepy antics get by them. Glad I gave them the notebook so they could high-tail it out of there.
The route itself though… whoa. They walk around a lot of the main vineyard building, but it takes quite a while to get to the spot where they initiate conversation. A bit more on-the-go tour information could have helped make things a bit less tedious.

Overall, it was fine, but I much more enjoyed Joanne Bayswater, even if she has a super-easy kill method. More compact and easier to find, IMO.

Yeah,Mendoza isn’t very good in terms of exits outside of the main mission.I really wish we had the tango exit available.
Why boat exit though?Grape field is extremely easy to get to and a way better option(at least in this case) in my opinion.

Too obvious, too easy and too banal if you ask me.
I don’t remember, but seems I too used a boat exit after dealing with him
