Using comically bad impersonators as replacements would be funny. The Wildcat and The Not-Dying.
This could be a very good fix for the contract issues.
The Undying mission is a very good mission with mission stories: infiltrated through an insider, visiting the lab… There are several opportunities to kill him with the lab’s stuff. There are several interactions between 47 and the target.
Moreover, another assassin is a good target for an ET mission.
We need to change its name (e.g., “The Assassin”) and its appearance into an average NPC. But maybe the mission is also under contract?
I really enjoyed this mission. But because of the ET principle, I didn’t have the opportunity to test all the possibilities offered by the mission.
The Undying Returns.
“Official communiqué from IOI to the public” is a nice way to describe what I do in general. I’m not really involved in internal communications between departments; primarily, that’s what our various producers do. I’m focused on most of the ‘heavy’ things that we share publicly like player support guides, patch notes, blog posts, studio/game announcements etc. There’s also an element of being the go-to person for co-ordinating PR activities and also talking with many platform holders about our marketing activities there (not sales or storefronts though).
About picking the ET’s, that’s not something I’ve been directly involved with until Year 2. I’m a little bit more involved now to try and make our actions better reflect the feedback we receive. Hopefully that’s been visible by things like the Goldballer, Screwdriver, Hammer/Jaeger unlocks etc being made available again. I was the driver behind getting those top of the list for what to release.
I’m not sure that we’ve ever said that all ET’s can’t be reactived. In theory, they are all available for selection in the Arcade (aside from the obvious ones you mention), but some of them are not a good experience and don’t hold up so well in their current form. For example, the Fixer or the Ex-Dictator are troublesome and can be frustrating for players.
Hey, Travis, as you are here, can you say something about “original” HITMAN 3 Elusive Targets which all are missed for Steam players.
Will they be reactivated, so Steam players could get them or will be missed forever?
Hey, I want them all, difficult or not. Especially the Fixer, I’ve got a personal grudge against that dickhead for all the times he made me lose my perfect streak. Please bring him back at least once so I can insert a concealable knife between his ribs.
Wouldn’t that be in part due to the very restrictive nature of regular ET’s? The arcade could be a nice opportunity to let players try out the painful ETs without the risk of losing them forever, and maybe release a bit of the pent up anger/frustation on ETs that they may have failed in the past.
Although the Ex-Dictator is currently broken from what l’ve heard, as a bunch of npcs are just black silhouettes.
the arcade as it is now is would be a terrible homeplace for ets like the ex-dictator or the fixer. As they already are quite restrictive, restricting them even more would be beyond awful.
It’s true that extra restrictions on top of them would be bad, but they wouldn’t really be that bad if they were maybe the first level with no complications.
If they were simple restrictions it could work. For example, if you put the most difficult ETs together in one Arcade contract and gave them the simplest complications, like starting off with the Bookeeper with only kill your targets as the restriction, then next is the Ex-Dictator and with only kill your targets and don’t knock out more than one NPC, then last would be the Fixer with only kill your targets, don’t knock out more than one NPC, and all bodies must be hidden, which given the nature of the Fixer is essentially what you’d have to do anyway. This way, you can still use accidents on the first two at least and not worry about hiding bodies.
thanks for typing all that out! that sounds terrible!
Have y’all considered running the Hitman 2 Special Assignments as normal Elusive Targets? Ajit “AJ” Krish would be a Miami ET from which people could unlock the Florida Fit with Gloves. Also, with no Undying there’s only 5 possible ETs for the Hitman 2 ET Arcade contracts, meaning it’s impossible to even have two contracts that don’t reuse at least one ET
How do? An exploding propane flask for the first two and the usual method for the last one. Makes the three most difficult ETs from H1 doable even in Arcade restrictions.
yea but that would be incredibly boring to do
Well, then again, since we’re asking for IO to remove the restrictions that Arcade mode placed on ETs, there’d be no problem bringing them back then.
yea then itd be good fun, but i severely doubt theyll remove restrictions.
Thanks for the Goldballer!
Travis, can we expect the continuation of the roadmaps for #Year2 ?
If you’re still around, @Travis_IOI, can you answer me this: why is the Liability restricted to three starting points that assign an outfit to the player, instead of allowing them to start in the woods with an outfit of their choosing like in the main game, and is there a chance that it could be changed in the future to allow that?
Thanks for explaining everything that you do!
Very informative
Big thanks for the hammer/Jaeger. I needed those. I also liked how those challenges could be easily tied into the main mission.
Genuinely curious, why do you think that?
We’re working on our next comms. Nothing has changed in our ambition to give a look ahead to what’s coming up.
I don’t know the specifics on that, nor really what’s possible to change. I’ll see what I can find out.
That’s not everything , but happy to share more about it.
