I decided to actually get on the newest trend because I love it so much:
“47’s Three Cents”, Xbox One, 3-30-7838752-59
EDIT: targets do not need to be poisoned first, I’m just a moron… 
all you need is (very) quick reflexes to change from throwing a melee weapon to throwing a coin 
The Strategy
-
Lock on target with a melee weapon
-
While un-targeting, almost simultaneously enter the item select menu
-
Select the throwable, non-melee item (it does not have to be coins) and almost simultaneously re-target as you leave the menu
-
Throw the non-melee item as soon as possible after re-targeting (if you’ve done it correctly, the game will have been tricked into thinking you’re still throwing a weapon that is now lethal)
NOTE: the glitch does not last more than a second after you’ve got it to work so be very quick

can you explain to me how to do it step by step?
I have tried for the last 30 minutes, but cant seem to get the glitch to work. I saw the video earlier, but I was at work.

lock on to target with a melee throwable, unlock from target and quickly switch to a throwable that cant be locked on. if your fast enough the game should still think you have a lock on and you can throw the none lock-able item like a coin into someones face, killing them

Do they have to be poisoned or was that just to isolate her in the video? (I suppose I could have tested more thoroughly

Personally, I think it’s easier than food kills because there’s less to remember; you just need quick reflexes

I got it to work twice. On xbox, are you holding down the lock on (left trigger) when selecting the coin?
