Yes PLEASE!
It took me a while to find it, but I posted about this once before. The flash really does make a difference and it’s a real shame it’s just used for split-second aesthetic.

I was trying to take a picture of an item in a dark area and found in the split second you take a picture, there’s an illuminating flash that actually illuminates the environment. Well, turns out it’s a big help in getting some otherwise bogus pictures.
