Are you sure you are not missing a weapon? You need to be level 65 and have the ornamental/ ancestral stuff as well.
Oh, that must be it! I forgot that the ornamental/ ancestral stuff was not DLC. Thank you
This was kinda fun to do!
Impressive.
And without the x5 prestige merces bonus even.
Thank you!
Yeah, wanted to do it without.
New goal is to reach 10 million merces on hardcore, again without the prestige bonus.
Going to do 5 campaigns each day
Funnily enough, Iāve also been playing on a 10,000,000 Merces objective those last few months. On Normal Mode though. But I try to do as much perfect run as possible.
I gain 250-300k per campaign.
Mostly by keeping at Assassinations and Espionage syndicates (with a hint of Arms Trafficking)
I got into the rhythm, itās going smoothly.
An end of campaign takedown mission, all payouts, one safe, all couriers is usually around 12 minutes long. And itās the longest.
A small highlight: starting the Paris firework to make everyone stationary and looking at the same direction to syringe a target during a Silent Assassin No Firearms mission.
I havenāt watched the full run yet but I have a question - why do you sometimes skip taking anything from the tool crate? Taking an explosive and dropping it right away to ābankā it will remove it from the pool and make it more likely for one of capacity 1-3 to spawn, and once you have all explosives in the tool case you can just respawn any, like the devil duck, at the start of every mission, to take care of troublesome targets like that guy at 24:50.
Aside from that I really liked the tech at 29:25 to stop investigative guards, that could come in handy.
Ye thats a fair point, and i started doing that later with the road to 10 million challenge. I was still playing it with the hardcore speedrun mentality i guess!
Yeah, easy way to stop them going for an investigation
Nice! How far along are you? Im planning on making it a 10 day challenge, doing 1 million a day.
Im still playing it with the hardcore speedrun mentality for the most part, just blasting and running.
Edit: Streaming the progress everyday for those interested:
I thought you were a speed runner
Around 9,450,000. So I might finish the play this week-end, certainly by the next roadmap.
I kept my last prestige for after the release of the ICA Outstanding Service Coin, four month ago, and piled the merces since.
I did have a setback around the 4 millions mark, fortunately since itās normal difficulty it āonlyā brought be back to 2 millions.
I was a bit afraid that finishing all the challenges would take away the positive returns from the game, and make it feel stale. But this 10M objective replaced it pretty well.
It remains to be seen what happens after it.
I think I will try to pop in and out of hardcore before any campaigns to void the tool crates at the start.
And then play exclusively Sick Games syndicate.
I should make fun journeys
(and kinda wish we had a special campaign with the main mission targets with random payouts to have the best of both worlds in Freelancer.)
I have avoided asking this question for many streamers for a long time. The tools take a second to grab, and after you have a few silenced weapons, they provide a ridiculous amount of utility and are much cheaper than any weapon you can buy.
After having a few silenced weapons, I consider tools much more important than any weapon you can buy or find on a map.
Itās really weird to me because a lot of runs could be improved/saved by just grabbing the free tools.
I donāt want to get singled out and receive ire (and this isnāt directed towards anyone in particular), but I just donāt get it. Tools are clearly better than weapons, once you have the weapons you need ā this part is important.
I really wish IOI would make some more challenges for Freelancer. A 10 million merces would be a good one ā¦ 100 million could maybe give a 2nd Seiker in your inventory. Bottom line, I want some more Freelancer challenges with some cool rewards ā¦
This is why Iām really hesitant to do another Prestige I just have this vision of me going for another Prestige and there will be another challenge that comes for Freelancer that involves an unlock hidden behind having 10 million merces or something
Iām currently on 4 million merces and Iām planning on just building on that until I know for definite thereās no further unlocks coming.
On that note though, we know thereās further stuff something for the Safehouse (see leaks section), but I also hope for further challenges in the future as well
As someone who has done countless speedruns on hardcore, i dont really agree. Its nice to have a few duckies in a few sketchy situations, but its far more important to have weapons of epic/legendary variety, and the Leviatan sniper rifle. This due to the mandatory prestige objective, and having the piercing sniper for showdowns.
I guess you could list the above under āweapons you needā, but thats kinda the whole point no? A legendary pistol is far better than any tool (or any other weapon for that matter)
Is a piercing sniper really better for the kind of challenge youāre attempting though? Non target suspect kills cost 1000 merces while using a low powered Sieger to bodyshot suspects ensures youāll get the leader without killing any of the other suspects. For regular missions yeah the Leviathan is probably better, but for showdowns Iām not really seeing what it brings compared to a Sieger (aside from killing assassins on Whittleton)
Iām also not so sure that getting the 2 extra boxes outside the vault in NY is worth the time and risk to kill all the guards in the public area. When youāre coming from the vault side itās possible to quickly grab them without killing anyone after triggering the alarm (I think nobody will notice dead guards outside before the alarm goes off), but when coming from the public area I feel itās both quicker and safer to grab the keycard from the IT guys and only kill the guards on the vault side?
Why not just let us unlock Infinite Ammo eventually? Or have the weapon vendors sell ammo refills since they run out of other things to sell?
Im still bodyshotting suspects with a pistol first, but theres still a ton of fake npcs on Mendoza aswell, also some sketchy situations where the target is far away and close to an exit already. Thats why the Leviathan is still preferable for the showdowns, even with the challenge im attemtping.
You could very well be right there! Ive gotten quite used to clearing out that entire section by now, and its quite quick. That being said ill try what you said today and see how it compares.
I am keeping track of all the stats each day so should be interesting.
It looks like
March 27 will be
The Spring 25 Roadmap release.
I wonder what they will have.
Any guesses?
A new celebrity or a past celebrity getting another chance like Van Dame?
Probably few new challenges
Another round of elusive targets
New purple stuff on twitch
