Freelancer - General Discussion

That’s why I try to confirm every trait listed. Although the intel only mentions 4 descriptors for appearance, it doesn’t mean they won’t have others. For example, if a target had blonde hair, glasses, earrings and a necklace, that doesn’t mean they won’t have a hat or a tattoo as well, so you would need to make sure they have the 4 traits regardless of whether they have others and not assume it’s not them if their blonde hair is covered by a hat, and if the glasses are on top of that hat. Then watch for the behaviors, then watch for what kind of meeting they’re having. Theoretically, it could be possible to have two suspects that match all the intel, but one had additional features and one doesn’t. If that ever happens, I guess err on the side of caution and assume at that point that the one with extra features is the incorrect one.

He does count as having glasses, I believe

Every suspect will have five traits (including hair color) so they’ll always have one you don’t need. The catch is that this counts the Watch trait, which is either unused or so rare that it might as well be. Which is a real shame, I think!

For the record, I managed to take out the target anf his bodyguard. Miracle since I shot the wrong suspect that also matched physically and didn’t have the sunglasses and started evacuation of pretty much everyone except for my target. LMAO

Alas, 80 campaings completed and again in Hardcore mode, epic assault rifle kill prestige objective.

One time I was spotted trespassing by a target who was a guard in Paris, he escorted me to an exit and I kept the silent assassin PO.

People have been discussing Adil’s issue on the subreddit have said that this does not happen for the prestige objective “Silent Assassin” or “Silent Assassin Suit Only”, but does happen with “Silent Assassin - No Firearms”. Are you sure that the same logic actually applies for the regular Silent Asssassin objective?

Because you still met the conditions to be escorted. When you cooperate like that, SA can be maintained. So it didn’t count because you didn’t void it, you were spotted under “acceptable” circumstances.

The logic I was referring to was Silent Assassin staying voided once it is voided in Freelancer, regardless of whether it’s normal SA, SASO, or SANF. What causes it to become voided is a different story, but my greater point was that it cannot be reclaimed once lost as an objective in Freelancer.

On the subject of Silent Assassin in Freelancer, for those Silent Assassin players, who thinks that the SA Prestige objective should always be an available Prestige objective? Even if they added it as a forth objective, I think having this is a consistent option would be really cool and I know this has come up before on here :slightly_smiling_face:

Definitely. Make it always available. And the ability to turn off the other objectives while adding their monetary value to the total for the mission itself for each one you turn off.

This sounds like a pretty good idea to me

Objectives can go from failed → completed (and vice-versa) - or even back to “in-progress” after being failed or completed. They just don’t here, for whatever reason that will likely be forever unknown to us.

Also, I think I recall only the SA No Firearms prestige objective having this exception, the others work “properly” if only targets witnessed you.

Where is a situation where an objective can be categorized as failed and then change to completed, because I have never once witnessed that or even heard anyone discuss it.

Vitality from Sloth comes to mind. While not immediately going from Failed → Completed, it can go from Failed → “in-progress” → Completed. Objectives can still do the former though (so do challenges, but they’re both based around the same system anyway).

I am talking solely in regards to objectives in Freelancer. When in Freelancer can an objective - either optional or prestige - change to status failed, and then be changed to completed afterward?

@Combatglue

in the main game/contracts/ET/etc, when you are playing a mission and you open up your inventory to look at or choose an item, the background music that is playing lowers in volume so you can still hear it but in freelancer, the music just stops completely (either in the safehouse or in mission)

I have always wanted to mention this but kept forgetting. I hope you guys can change freelancer to be like the other modes when you open the inventory screen so the music will lower in the background while selecting other items instead of just stopping completely.

:folded_hands:thank you!

I’m fairly certain I was on 98 campaigns completed going into the final showdown. I finished it and went to check the counter and to my surprise it showing all 100 completed. No challenge unlock animation either in the top right. Did my game skip 1 whole campaign? So weird and anti-climactic after that insane grind.

Well, at least the wall looks pretty cool now.

Did you have a recent crash? If the game crashes in Freelancer then all challenge progression and XP you obtain from a mission gets counted twice. That’s how I was able to technically do 15 campaigns in a single day about 2 years ago.

The more you learn lol. Yes, it did crash yesterday once. Had no idea about this “feature”.

I was thinking earlier, with the arrival of the Eminem elusive target and with us getting extra Safehouse cosmetics it got me thinking. Instead of having the decorations solely aimed for the outside area and the gym area, we could get some for the upstairs areas as well, especially this area………….

Imagine having a nice big Christmas tree on that staircase area, replacing the left shelves, especially with it being the holiday season!

For my last 3 prestige runs, the striker has been the final weapon I need and it never shows up at the supplier. I only receive it in the reward chest. Is the striker bugged, or have I been unlucky?
