How embarrassing

Oxenfree 1 and 2 are super cheap on Playstation for the next 2 weeks.

Very cool dialogue-choice supernatural thrillers
(This is in CAD so it’s even cheaper in USD or elsewhere lol! :sob:)

Quelle Surprise…

I really feel for the devs I really do. Hopefully this Netflix deal helped them financially for a time, but ugh, unsurprising this isn’t really working out.

Minecraft’s bundles of bravery drop released yesterday

and today they revealed new features for the winter drop I’m a big fan of the colour orange so I like the new block and it can be used to trim armour so that’s neat

but I’m hoping if they are still adding things to this update they add pale pumpkins like the ones in Minecraft story mode

You just can’t win with Ubi

I thought we had a generic Game Sales thread, but I might be mistaken.

Regardless, the console versions of Ghost Trick are half off for this week. Pleqse buy it if you’re into interesting mysteries with kooky characters, puzzle solving rube goldberg machines, and the creator of Ace Attorney’s meticulous weird details.

I just want another 3D platformer (without rabbids please), I played Hoodlum Havoc so much when I was younger, I still have some of the quotes imprinted on my brain 20ish years later.

See you in Rayman 4 - Murfy
Like this one? :pensive:

With Ubi failing to revive Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia, not to mention fumbling with the Beyond Good and Evil 2 development, I don’t have much faith in them with Rayman or pretty much any game they make nowadays.

Mainly “I can swim, I can swim!” anytime I get in a pool…
I have absolutely 0 faith in Ubisoft anymore, to fumble such easy franchises is genuinely baffling.

Can’t forget about the knaaren’s taunts, not to mention the battle with Reflux, especially his battle theme, then again the game had a pretty memorable soundtrack, the tracks for the hoodbooms and the hoodoos being some of my favorite

@TheChicken :laughing: :grimacing:

Ubisoft are like:

Like somehow it is Ubisoft’s fault that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown didn’t sell well despite, how distanced it was from a lot of Ubisoft’s usual bad decisions and its overall solid critical repsponse.

No wonder Ubisoft never try anymore, why try and be marginalized for it when you can crank the slop out and be give cash money on the daily

But speaking of slop mills

Netflix aren’t even waiting for the projects to go past conceptualisation before cancelling them.

I was typing out a whole rant and armchair analysis, replete with tangents and sub-arguments, but had one of those “writer rabbit hole” things and just erased it all. Only to say—

What the hell is up with Ubisoft, man??

Funny I was doing the same thing but I remembered that LBJ quote and it sort of wrote itself

What isn’t up with them?

The marketing didn’t do the game any favors and since the game got decent reviews but didn’t sell well, that didn’t mean they needed to shut down the team. It’s back to how Microsoft closed Tango Gameworks even though Hi-Fi Rush had decent reviews and won several awards. One of the devs said how publishers only care about numbers of buyers / constant players and not how good a game is or how different or original it is compared to others.

Also Ubi shot themselves in the foot when they said this, right before the launch of the PoP game.

This really didn’t do them any favors in The Lost Crown selling well.

I feel like the circumstances surrounding the two games are in some ways different. Its an apple or pear comparison, you get a lot of similarities with both but also a lot of differences.

But yes it is sad that production doesn’t value creativity or quality when greenlighting projects, allocating funding or continuing the studio’s existence. But I highly doubt this is going to embolden Ubisoft creatively in the future, it will probably just make them worse.

Worms Armageddon 25th Anniversary, as in for 25 T17 has been trying to replicate the success of Worms Armageddon but not quite hitting the mark, Worms Rumble being their biggest blunder ever. If you’re gonna say the 3D Worms games were their biggest mistake, I hope a concrete donkey drops down on your head
