Missed opportunity to catch it at 3 hours, 4 minutes, and 25 seconds… :face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I was planning on posting it then but I was busy helping a friend pack up all their stuff so they could move and sorta just forgot

Is this a new game or just DLC for Rogue City? It was an enjoyable game, pretty easy although it gives you the power fantasy you want from being Robocop, but really on the short side (though I think full price it was like £25 iirc)

I don’t think it’s a dlc because the PlayStation store lists it as a full game

Ah okay, kinda weird title for a full sequel imo but I look forward to it.

Yeah I thought that too decided to double check before posting it here just in case

I want to follow up with this announcement.

Brenden McNamara is the head of this studio acquired by Rockstar.

For people who don’t know Brenden McNamara oversaw the development of LA Noire when Team Bondi was a thing.

For people who also don’t know Brenden McNamara is the reason why a majority of people left Team Bondi and got their names scrubbed from the credits for LA Noire cause he created an hostile work environment when he pushed for crunch.

in other words he’s the perfect POS for Rockstar to meet their 2025 Release window for GTA Vl

Bondi, it is spelt Bondi.

Might be entirely speculative on my part, but I do think Grand Theft Auto Vl won’t reach its targeted release window.

If they don’t start marketing within the next few months as in late spring early summer, I feel an internal delay is inevitable.

While GTA Vl is a titan in itself and no news is good news mentality is apparent. I’m certain the longer people wait without anything concrete or official the likely hood of the game releasing this year goes down.

Has there been any indication of a delay?

We don’t know what their marketing plans are but realistically it is probably two or three more trailers. The game is set to come out in october/november. That’s still eight or nine months away.

While fifteen months of silence since the announcement may seem like a long time I don’t think it’s unheard of or an indication that the game won’t be ready. We should also take the leaks into account. There was the massive 2022 leak and unfortunately also a leak for trailer 1. It’s probably safe to say that Rockstar is being hyper aware of what and when things will go public because of that.

Time will tell.

I just can’t see it releasing this year. Realistically the next investor call is massive in regards to a release window. That second trailer cannot be far away.

I personally think it’ll get shifted to a Spring/Summer 2026 release.

It’s fair to think that but I don’t understand why when there’s nothing indicating a delay. So why?

Just previous timelines with Rockstar releases. 15 months is a long time with no news.

I mean realistically it shouldn’t be delayed, they’ve had however long to get this game out.

Full on all in “dedicated” production didn’t begin til February of 2022. Prior to that the game was in Pre Production and by extension Early Production.

If we look at what Rockstar was working on after RDR2 Released it’s as followed.

  • Red Dead Online Support (put on Life Support as of February 2022)
  • Grand Theft Auto Online Support (Ongoing)
  • Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced and Expanded (PS5 & Xbox 2022)
  • Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Development Support for GSG (during and after the botched launch til Video Games Deluxe took over aka the people who made the mobile/Netflix Versions)
  • R.A.G.E Engine Upgrades (no clear timeline but a given since it’s their in-house engine)
  • Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced and Expanded (PC released 2025)
  • Grand Theft Auto Vl Pre/Early Production (Concluded as of February 2022 and went into full development no clear indication of when Pre/Early Started but can be assumed it was as early as October 2018)
  • some degree of support for the Max Payne Remakes which went into full production as of Q2 2024

The healthy mindset when it comes to how long it’s been taking them is as of February 2022 they had the general framework down and cast locked in with Voice Work being underway. As for the open world element which is obviously the most time consuming part of development since it’s no easy feat to make living and breathing worlds dense and rich with content.

It’s no secret the game will be massive, but given what we saw in the early build leaks we only saw a small portion of what the game will offer. It’s in the realm of possibility crunch can get them to the finish line as terrible as it sounds. But that window is getting smaller each passing day.

I’ll be more impressed if they release the game in a polished state in 2025 if anything given the technical boundaries of the PS5 and Xbox Series they’ll be pushing it.

Delaying a game is worth it for any duration you are able to survive without the income. Don’t push for buggy games. :joy:
