Naughty Dog have announced in a blog post all the details about TLOU2 on PC, with plenty of PC-specific features coming like ultra widescreen mode and a whole bunch of graphics settings. Also it needs 150 GB of space, twice that of the PS5 version.
But the thing that interests me is that on the day the PC version launches (April 3) there will also be a patch on PS5 that adds Bill and Marlene as playable characters in the No Return gamemode plus some new maps to have more variety! (The PC version also includes these)
From the post:
Bill is a “Smuggler” playstyle who can access a custom pump shotgun from dead drops, and receives double rewards from drops as well. He’s stronger against melee attacks but can’t dodge. Marlene, meanwhile, features a “Risk Taker” playstyle that includes a Custom Assault Rifle, “All or Nothing” gambits, can reroute her No Return path once per run, and more.
And also they’re adding in a costume for Ellie based on Jordan’s jacket from their upcoming game Intergalactic
This seems cool, and built trying to *avoid* live-service tropes.
It’s got an adequately deep loadout system – a primary weapon, a grenade, a piece of class-specific gear called a Crisis Kit, and a lineup of perks. It supports teams of three players in PvE missions called ‘Jobs,’ and gives you an elemental sandbox where water, fire, and electricity can affect the FBC offices you battle in. Jobs take place across different objective zones, and after completing the final objective, you get the chance to escape – you’ll earn and keep XP even if you die during a Job, but you’ll get some bonus currency to buy new loadout gear and upgrades if you make it out alive.
Remedy is consciously avoiding all of the draining, frustrating pain points of live service games. No battle passes. No paid expansions or DLC-gated missions (Remedy says all playable, post-launch content will be free). No chasing loot drops or god rolls. No daily challenges or log-in bonuses. It’s also avoiding a free-to-play model in favor of a mid-range price point (I imagine one similar to something like Helldivers 2) and will be available to Game Pass [and PS+ Extra] subscribers on day one to get people through the door early.
FBC Firebreak is all about flexibility. Remedy doesn’t want you stressing and grinding, so it lets you tinker with difficulty and the length of a Job to suit how much skill and time your party has. Before each mission, you can pick a Threat Level (which alters the combat difficulty) and a Clearance Level (how many of the three zones in each Job you want to take on before being asked to extract).
So if you’re approaching FBC Firebreak as a co-op FPS player first and foremost, things are shaping up rather well. If you’re a fan of Control, though, it’s going to be even more of a treat.
Awww nice!! That should be fun and offer more replayability in it.
I was especially surprised to find key memorable areas like the Overlook, School and overgrown Streets shown there weren’t in the mode… but worry no more, I guess!
I wonder if the grown up baby ghast lets you have chickens ride it as well since it seems to let players stand on it just fine also I still love the cold ones hair
Lol nice. Just a few hours ago when starting my shift, I some reason had the thought “Man, when are they gonna tell us when Indy is coming to PS5… Xbox is really trying to stretch out that “Spring” window…”
And here we are!
Hahah, and what a good ad. Love the not-so sneaky references to Nolan’s Nathan Drake
Also like with the leaks hiding around the map before miku was announced there’s a teaser for the next festival headliner and it’s Sabrina Carpenter that’s now 3 headliners in a row I like yay
Among Us Dev 1: Hey, for this Yakuza crossover, should we have a gameplay video showing off all the available outfits?
Among Us Dev 2: Nah, let’s just do an entire 2 minute dedication to the most iconic karoke song in Yakuza.
Among Us Dev 1: You son of a bitch, I’m in.
I’m definetly getting this for myself. Really my only complaint is that there aren’t more costumes since there are a bunch of other characters from Yakuza that I’d love to dress my guy as.
Oh yeah adding onto this, Bam Margera has been reportedly readded to the roster at the insistence of Tony Hawk himself. I actually hope having a “job” and something to do helps Bam in making this recovery stick this time.
Interestingly the lighting is actually inspired by the PS1 version of 4 which has the level take place on a rainy night. Suburbs has entirely original lighting different from what they did in 3’s two console versions which was midday.
Also the NPC call outs are back. Long have I waited to hear those magic words “Let me see you bust something out!”
This is a few weeks old, but still, it’s been getting a lot of fan buzz from what I’ve seen.
Sonic Unleashed now has a fully-working Unofficial PC Port thanks to dedicated fans!
(BUT you need the Xbox360 version files first! Officially, of course. )
Dubbed Sonic Unleashed Recompiled, it takes the original Xbox360 game and recompiles the files through C++ to work on basically any platform, and it all runs very smoothly if your PC can do it!
This also lets people experience the game in higher fidelity than even the original versions couldn’t! (Apparently even on Consoles, the Werehog Melee stages suffered from low/framerate drops. But now, it can reach a stable 60!)
(Previous efforts to play it on PC, such as with the PS3 version emulation, have been janky AF.)
Yes, this means Modding is also easier than ever for this game lol ohh boy…
