Destiny 2 is ending development
Jason Voorhees is coming to Dead by Daylight on June 16th (Steam PTB May 26th)
I do wish they didn’t reveal this as part of a weird 13 hour arg stream thing (Pokémon Sword/Shield Galarian Rapidash flashbacks
) but really happy it’s happening :3 (please get a Freddy vs Jason skin if possible it’d be so funny if they finally make new nightmare on elm street content and it isn’t even for Freddy or Quinten
)
With the shitty Jason universe design too!
I’ll take it because it’s still Jason even if abit worse looking + he’ll probably get something original to DBD like his Tactical outfit in Black Ops 6
and I really like the Blighted skins in DBD especially the ones for Xenomorph and Springtrap so hope he gets one come October :3
Content creators got to post footage of him and we know his three launch skins now (hope they do actual ones from the films but yay this kinda guarantees that blighted skin thing :3)
I played what I could of this game when I first got my PS5. I thought the car combat was quite fun, if a bit repetitive over time. RIP Destruction AllStars, I will miss you.
The online servers have been completely barren for the last year anyway, so it’s not like this changes much.
The story mode had potential if they weren’t locked behind microtransaction currency… I only ever got the basic version when it released in PSPlus, which I think only came with one character’s worth of single player challenges or something?
They eventually reduced the price and included them all in the new base game version, but really they should have just make this game Free to Play. It never got any of the momentum it needed to survive more than its first year. ![]()

Nice…
The only “issue” is, I assume, it will likely only work with the next-gen-patched version, whereas my installed one is the “old-gen” one for the sake of my ageing laptop, but maybe that’ll change by the time this comes out.
(Also, I don’t care where it’s set, as long as it has a manticore in it)
They are releasing an expansion to a game that is 11 years old? I’m not sure of the decision making process there, but I supposed I can relearn how to play that game if the expansion is good enough. I looked on Steam and apparently I did play it 6 years ago, though I barely remember it.
Binding of Isaac would like to have a word with you.
Unnecessary as I disagree with the timing of that too. There are quite a few games that got expansions or other patches long after the original game was “current”, including Half Life 2, Knights of the Old Republic 2, UnReal World, etc.
The Sims 4 was released the year before Witcher 3 and it still gets regular patches and new expansions, so it can work, without a doubt.
The different between the Sims and the Witcher 3 though is that there has been a steady stream of updates to the Sims so many players have been actively engaged with that game for most of the last 12 years (my wife still plays it almost daily and at least weekly). There hasn’t been a single year since it was released where there wasn’t some sort of new content.
I haven’t even had the Witcher 3 installed on a computer in 6 years.
It’s presumably to bridge the gap between 3 and 4 and build excitement, Borderlands 2 did the same thing in the run up to 3’s release
Fans reinstalling the game and learning how to play it again is exactly the goal
You seem to think they should not do that but I did not really learn from your posts why?
The only point I was trying to make is that I question the decision to release content after such a long time without content. If, as Spods said, the only purpose is to get the game back into people’s heads before they release the next one, fine, but my own reaction would be “I’m not going to buy an expansion for a game that I never play anymore”. That’s really it.
Maybe it is included in the… game pass if that exists for Witcher 3.
The point is if the developers feel there’s still stories and content to create they will do it. In this case it’s because of Witcher 4 which surely will have references to this expansion.
Theres no real reason to be confused on why they’re doing this expansion given it’s the worse kept secret in terms of its existence and it’s not an egregious release that won’t be welcomed.
Payday 2 is an example of it being egregious where they gave a narrative conclusion to the game, announced ending content support. And circled back because Payday 2 was still the more successful title after they botched Payday 3.
While I struggle to play Witcher 3, I know the game is quality and I’m excited for people who are fans of the series and this game to get another expansion.
I see this no different to Borderlands 2 leading up to the release of Borderlands 3. And I see this no different to the release of Zombies Chronicles for Black Ops 3 which released after it wasn’t the currently released COD becoming one of the most successful DLC’s released.
I’d say this expansion is no different to Ambrose Island for HITMAN 3 too.
They updated the game with the next-gen patch a few years back, which also included new in-game items, changes, and a brand new side quest. Additionally, they released the REDkit modding tool for it, which has allowed modders recently to dig up and recreate/implement quite a bit of cut content into the game. It’s honestly a pretty good time to be playing the game (on PC anyway).
That being said, I agree with what Spods says - the main reason for the new DLC is likely to serve as a bridge of sorts and hype generator for the Witcher 4.
Well never mind then. Apparently it makes complete sense.
