I’d rather have the Steam reviews / forums than not a la Epic and I’d rather check reviews from known Youtubers than checking reviews from the so called professional reviewers at IGN, Gamespot etc.

I believe I’m capable enough to differentiate a troll review from a serious one as for Youtube reviewers shilling themselves, there will always be one of those. Yongyea, I believe, praised the game only to backtrack when the backlash started after release. In cases like these I say watch multiple ones and don’t stick to a favorite reviewer and also, wait for Steam reviews

My point isn’t that they are troll reviews in and of themselves but shows how easy it is to hold a garbage opinion, post it onto Steam and then it stays up there because Steam have no to little moderation or how it would be easy to review bomb something, not to mention most people have trouble actually writing up how well they feel".
Also I feel the second guy I posted wasn’t trolling, I think he genuinely hates the fact that minorities are in it and that they hold a degree of power and that he feels warning people about it is his own duty.

Thing is, reviews can be reported and taken down but yeah, I’m not sure how effective it is.
Only fix I see is that after submitting a review, you’d have to wait until it’s checked by Valve but that would be impossible to how many games there are and in how many languages a review can be written.
Steam also detects review bombing and hides them, most of them being like those that you gave as example

It most likely wouldn’t be effective. Twitter allows you to report tweets or their accounts and they allow the fucking Taliban to have an account in addition to other reactionary shitbags.

And that view is stupid as well. It is like saying “I can hack up a family using a steak knife, so we should do away with them”. Twitter is a few lines of code on a computer in a basement located in Palo Alto, it is no more malicious than a car in the parking lot.
Twitter sucks because people suck and they suck even more when they don’t face consequences for being a tool online. Steam forums suck because people are stupid idiots who love abusing the freedom of anonymity to be an asshole.

Yep, lot’s of reasonably sized companies do this. It is a safe and risk free way for companies to gauge interest in an IP without having to risk actually making it first and if it goes tits up then you haven’t wasted your companies money.
Boom Comics did something similar with a comic called BZRKR, it had Keanu Reeves in it and Boom had a Netflix deal to adapt their comics exclusively to their platform yet they felt the need to market it via Kickstarter. A week after the campaign hit one million they announced the adaptation for Netflix. IDW did it with the publishing of a Power Rangers art collection despite that being something fans would normally pay for.

This is in promotion for Far Cry 6 next month. The deal lasts until September 11.
As far as I know, this isn’t a trial. They’re giving away the whole game. You’ve probably got to use the Uplay client though.

As a fan of the original Chaos Gate, I’m looking forward to this. I’m looking forward to see some gameplay and hops that it won’t be too far off from the original.
