After winning the 2023 Dutch General Election Geert Wilders’ far-right PVV finally entered a government under the Schoof Cabinet (Wilders was not allowed to become Prime Minister due to objections from the NSC). After a very long formation process they formed a coalition government between the PVV-VVD-NSC-BBB with Independent figure Dick Schoof as Prime Minister. But now less than a year after the Schoof cabinet’s formation it has fallen with Geert Wilders PVV pulling out of the cabinet leaving snap elections increasingly likely. Currently polling averages show a three-way race between the far-right PVV, center-left to left-wing GL/PvdA alliance which will be voting in June on whether or not to merge both parties into a united left-wing force, and the center-right VVD.

Last November, the city of San Antonio had a change to its charter to allow a mayor and other members of city government to serve for 4 years instead of only 2. This was an attempt by Republicans to ensure a Republican could serve for longer over a city that has had a more left-leaning population for quite some time, and they wanted to be able to control that and limit policies that such a voting block approved of.
Yesterday, votes were tallied for the new mayor of San Antonio, and it is not only a Democrat, but a gay woman, who will now serve for 4 years. How’d that work out for ya, conservative numb-nuts?!
