From the chaos of thousands of winds blowing, a prevailing wind emerges when enough of these personal interests happen to align. Ironically, this is the same reason a dystopian New World Order wouldn’t work, because of how many actors would need to be on the same page for it to work. Self-interest and disputes would undermine any conspiracy, not to mention participants leaking it to their advantage
To borrow from and expand upon what The Constant said: if it seems like a conspiracy, it probably isn’t. If it seems like mere stupidity, you can count on it.
I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely “off the rails,” essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States - The System seems not designed for them. The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds! Republicans, on the other hand, are a smooth running “machine,” that just passed the biggest Bill of its kind in the History of our Country. It is a Great Bill but, unfortunately for Elon, it eliminates the ridiculous Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate, which would have forced everyone to buy an Electric Car in a short period of time. I have been strongly opposed to that from the very beginning. People are now allowed to buy whatever they want - Gasoline Powered, Hybrids (which are doing very well), or New Technologies as they come about - No more EV Mandate. I have campaigned on this for two years and, quite honestly, when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate - It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had. He said he had no problems with that - I was very surprised! Additionally, Elon asked that one of his close friends run NASA and, while I thought his friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue blooded Democrat, who had never contributed to a Republican before. Elon probably was, also. I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA, when NASA is such a big part of Elon’s corporate life. My Number One charge is to protect the American Public!
EDIT: Dug into the archives, the good times last year. I finally realised why Democrats fell in love with Whitmer and Shapiro.
Wow, did Trump actually say something right by accident?
Oh, fun fact, remember Tim Scott and his white girlfriend from last year?
They’re going to be spending a lot of quality time together, since Scott isn’t running in 2028. Something about self-imposed term limits.
Honestly, respect. The guy would only be 63 by the end of his term, he could probably stay for two or three terms more, but he’s holding himself to his principles.
Or maybe Vance would make him his running mate.
Case in point, this decrepit flip-flopping piece of shit is 10 years older than Scott and is going to run for a fifth term next year.
I covered three badasses running for office next year: Hallie Shoffner, Nathan Sage, Bobby Cole.
This isn’t one of them.
I can’t even appreciate the irony of an elder care worker primarying a 75 year old because this guy has JD Vance-level rizz.
The final video’s the only one with proper music editing.
But that’s not all, Connor is also a Redditor, and he’s already amassing an army of devoted fans.
Dan Osborn’s back.
At least our government is hard at work protecting Americans from having to listen to Marco Rubio’s voice.
Oh, and we have another cabinet member juggling positions.
Not like it matters anyway, Trump’s cutting down on NASA too.
And in case anyone was curious, I did some filters, here’s how Josh Hawley and Tom Cotton are going to look after 20 years.
Translation: People of Paraisopolis attack cars passing by after an incursion by the police left one casualty.
These bunch of criminals drugheads are surrounding and turning cars just passing by. My country is lost. We’re past the point of turning back.
Is anyone noticing an FDR-obsession on Reddit now? What’s up with it? All I know is that he got the country through WW2 and locked up Japanese-Americans. What’s so progressive about that? Someone give me a crash course.
My details are very fuzzy, but things like social safety nets and such were put in place by his administration, or something like that. Like every other leader, he had his good moments and his bad moments. He didn’t treat Asia very well, but he made things a bit better for the generations that followed in America, and the republicans and their corporate masters are now finally taking them down like they’ve wanted to all along.
He also brought in several public sector work programs and training schemes similar to modern apprenticeships
He built a real middle class and wasn’t afraid to tax the bourgeoisie.
If he were still alive he might still be president. They formalised the two term maximum after he died in his 4th term. No one else had ever stayed past two.
Alright, Trump is taxing Brazil because the president (all politicians really) are a bunch of criminal assholes.
But what the hell does the population has to do with it??
He does realize that the government doesn’t pay taxes, right?
Is he stupid? Yes.
There’s a lot I wanna say about politics right now, but it’s just too much.
He’s not just stupid; he’s also insane and his actions are likely symptoms of dementia.
To hurt a company, you hit them in the wallet. To hurt a government, you hit them in the electorate.
The US (or any country) can’t influence another country to action, so they’ll often influence their populace to exert pressure on their elected officials. Even when elections are rigged, you still need people to go the polls.
Don’t wory too much about it
when a world leader expresses an interest in something, it’s always watered down by civil service, infrastructure practicalities and budgetary feasibility, along with external interests and lobbyists. The finished product will be far less awful. And even then it’ll only be temporary before the Brazilian government find a workaround - often strengthening ties with countries they’ve been neglecting for a while. You could find the country getting closer with his neighbors, which could mean meeting new people from those cultures and having new experiences. Military and trade alliances may be suggested as a way to insulate the government (and by extension, its people) from future US actions.
I guess the main problem of Brazil is that the government doesn’t care about the population in stratospheric proportions. They’re just gonna put more taxes and get closer to countries that are very dubious. As I’ve said, we reached an Argentina point; the country is so broken that a radical change needs to happen. As the possibility of a Brazillian Milei is close to 0%, I don’t have much hope.
Since the pandemic several masks of several people have fallen, so that’s a good side. We got to see who people really were. As of 13th of July 2025, if you agree with the Brazillian government you’re either very naive/dumb or ill-intentioned.
Neither he, nor the people who lobby him understand that. There’s a bunch of people trying to tarrif Australia because of “socialist medicine”.
Basically it’s the bluntest tool in his arsenal to try to negate the concept of sovereignty in international politics, so he’s flailing it wildly hoping that everyone falls into line - but not really thinking about what is required for them to “fall into line”.
Apologies for the light-hearted post against the background of a really grim, sad story (for non-Brits who might not have been aware of this, overview link at Disappearance of Constance Marten and Mark Gordon - Wikipedia), but the BBC’s article on the trial of Constance Marten & Mark Gordon and how the events at court went down really is quite remarkable and well worth a read.
What especially caught my eye was a Crown Court judge delivering an absolute zinger of a line that any aspiring comedy writer only wishes they had the creative spark to come up with themselves:
… Gordon’s barristers withdrew their services. He said he had sacked them and then declared that he was representing himself with the help of a solicitor. The problem was he wasn’t a trained lawyer. It became hugely complicated. He often went on lengthy rants.
He complained that he didn’t have the same access as barristers. He wanted a desk, power to make legal applications and Archbold, a criminal law book running to more than 3,000 pages. He repeatedly asked for more and more time to get his head around the case. It led to huge delays.
“Do you want me to adjourn for three years while you do a law degree?” the judge said to him one day.
If Thomas Matthew Crooks took a Red Bull that day, this world would be a much better place.
If the people who don’t like being awful human beings simply had the balls to shoot all the people who do, this world would be a much better place, virtually instantaneously. But dreams, of course, are for children.
