Not surprising since based off my experience running this forum, Trump is very popular with people who don’t have to live under his leadership but do like the idea of being allowed to disregard social progress and just demand everything be rearranged for their benefit. That and well, Japan has a very troubled political history of its own.
Side note: If we could adhere to the guidelines by keeping the conversation about the news and not about whether random people we just learned about existing a few minutes ago deserve to die that’d be good.

I recall even in India a vast group celebrating Trump’s birthday and all. Never knew for sure if it was for meme purposes or a truly serious deal. Now, I think it was serious and part of the cultist-like mentality impulsed with his goverment and how this has influence worldwide.
It would be most likely be serious since Trump has a following in India due to his similarities with Indian PM Narendra Modi.

Republican National Committee headquarters cleared after officials found pipe bomb outside

The headquarters for the Republican National Committee were cleared Wednesday after a suspicious device was found nearby, committee communications director Michael Ahrens told CNN.
The headquarters are just a few blocks from the US Capitol. The evacuation happened roughly an hour ago, Ahrens said.
An RNC official told CNN that a pipe bomb was found on the ground outside, along the wall of the headquarters. The device was safely detonated by the police, the RNC official said.
The Democratic National Committee was also evacuated on Wednesday after a suspicious package was being investigated nearby, a Democratic source familiar with the matter tells CNN.
The party preemptively closed the building ahead of the protests, the source said, but a few security and essential personnel were evacuated.

I know I shouldn’t be surprised given the final numbers of the election, but damn it, I am surprised at the amount of people who showed up to the capitol hill.
Trump could totally condemn this or tell them to stop, but of course this is a win for the narcissist. This is sickening and very dissapointing for the US. What do these people hope to accomplish, anyway? Bullying the voters to change the results?

You have to remember that a core part of the QAnon cult’s ideals is that they are “following The Plan” - so many of them probably didn’t think that they needed to think ahead, it’d been planned out by someone else.
They attack Trump’s “enemies” and hope that there will be a special plan in place to allow him to arrest all Democrats, etc. If it doesn’t happen, well The Plan must be more complicated. They’re people who’ve been waiting four years for him to enact mass arrests and executions, on very specific dates, then shrugged when nothing happened on those dates - because they don’t want to think about it too much, they want to believe that there’s a plan and they’ll be benefiting for playing their part.

He did just release a statement where he said the words “go home”, but… He really isn’t defusing this situation at all. Keeps claiming that the election was stolen, that “everyone knows it, even the other side”, and that it’s a “shame it was taken from us so easily”, or something along those lines.
Fuck. Off. With that.
These 4 years are almost over, but I doubt this frustration is gonna go away so soon.
