So it seems as this won’t be necessary as the update stated this:
We will also be reviving both of our previous Twitch Drops to celebrate the release of the Splitter for anybody who missed the chance to get those items last time. For more details, please see our Twitch Drops FAQ
However, I don’t find any info on it. The possibility to get the Purple Bat is not apparent on Twitch.
I assume they just copied and pasted the Twitch information from a previous blog post without reading it and there is no plans to reactive the current drops at this time.
They had previously done this copy/paste error once before and it was swiftly removed. Seems its not the case this time.
A new celebrET? In addition to whatever new purple streak drop will arrive with them.
The Disruptor 2.0? A Mulligan of everything, the ET and the drops. I imagine the voice booth is readily available between two Project 007 sessions.
The Drop or the Undying returns, again, this time it’s personal?
I don’t think anyone had a problem with it and it must have been nice for others to get another opportunity to get them outside of the new celebET activations! I don’t think the purple boxer robe returned with the January twitch drops and briefing though - was that to do with the subscription method being unpopular or for another reason?
Its more the first part, since we get new players all the time we want the drops to be available for everyone that have not had a chance to get them and the ones that missed them.
The second part is just a bonus.
As a “core community” player, a completionist one at that, I would prefer twitch drops to be made automatic unlocks one day. And maybe they will (other games did so).
They are a currently a second FOMO track, added to the habitual Elusive Target FOMO.
But in their usual release, they are great synergy, at the right point. And it would be better to not cripple this tool for the time being.
So. If they are present, all and every-time, in the IOI stream. It would be the best of both worlds for all.
For you, it’s people watching.
For me it’s a certainty that aleviates one FOMO track.
For the common player, it’s obscure enough that they will mostly only see the one present in the roadmap, keeping it working as intended.
It’s akin to what the yearly Galore does for the Elusive Target.
(by the way speaking of galore and elusive target: this week’s The Drop and the Forger will be the 97th and 98th ET of the current version of the game.
Meaning next roadmap will contain the 100th Elusive Target of Hitman 3/WoA.)
Putting these on the IO streams doesn’t fully help achieve this though, speaking as a player who lives in a part of the world where the IO streams run in the middle of the night. It only makes them easily accessible to some of the newer players based on their location. For others, they’d essentially still be unobtainable.
Sorry, I did not mean it would be exclusive to the ioi streams.
more that other then being activated at certain beats all around the year that players would know that nearly once a month there will be a stream from ioi that always have these attached.
More like a “safety net”
but you raise a good point about timezones ofcourse.
